Most of the dishes we make are for big family events,

Those are the type of dishes that normally,

you would eat at a large Chinese restaurant, like a 12-course meal.

Or, Grandma or Mom would make it.

But it really takes them 2 to 3 days to create those dishes.

And the star of their best-selling dishes is chestnuts.

We add chestnuts because it has texture and flavor.

You'll notice that it's a bit sweet.

So, it really adds to the final product of the dishes.

Even though they sell this all year round,

Just like one of their most popular dishes,

pork knuckles, which is boiled for almost 4 hours.

The Chinese believe that pork knuckles are a symbol of prosperity.

And the whole cooking process takes up to one and a half days.

Pork Knuckles Braised for 4 Hours with Chestnuts.

The ingredients are ready, so let's get cooking!

First, we'll add a bit of oil.

Turn up the heat a bit.

And then, for seconds, we'll put the pork knuckles.

Cook the pork knuckles in oil for one minute each side.

We'll wait for 4 hours before we can taste it.
