Koboo: The Tree Spirit is an action rogue-like with a new take on challenging 2D souls-like combat where you fight seemingly giant hunters as a small tree spirit defending the forest animals. Befriend animals, plant your own garden, go friendly fishing and discover the ancient secrets of the forest in order to save it from deforestation!
After 3 years of development, the game has been designed to be a short and sweet experience which delivers combat encounters that requires skillful movement and positioning. Along with metroidvania inspired exploration where you unlock mobility skills overtime that help you discover more of the world. No grinding required, simply play and enjoy!
Combat - As Koboo you can dash to dodge attacks, hit the hunters weak spots for bonus damage, and combo aerial attacks to stay in the air longer. Mastering all these skills will make defending the forest a breeze. Over time you will unlock new ways to approach combat.
Upgrades - Recruit a unique combination of Animal Abilities and Weapon Upgrades on each run giving you a fresh set of abilities and weapon enhancements. With these upgrades, each run feels varied but not so different that a lucky set of skills leads to an easy win or an unlucky set leads to a loss.
Bosses - Battle hunter and machine bosses that tower over you. Each boss has their own skillset that will challenge you in many different ways. Defeating them will drop new weapons you can use on your next playthrough.
Exploration - Acquire new means of traversal to unlock hidden pathways and explore new areas of The Ancient Forest to change how you approach each run!
Gardening - Replant the seeds of endangered flora to revitalize the wildlife that has been destroyed by humans. Grow and maintain the many gardens you will find and receive Favour to unlock more Animal Abilities and Weapons.
Friendly Fishing - Meet the aquatic life who reside in the rivers of the forest. They may strike up a lovely conversation with you and provide you some Favour.
Secrets - Unravel the many mysteries of the Ancient Forest and uncover the warring human factions' plans to industrialize it. Will you be the one who stops them before the damage to the forest becomes irreversible?
