00:00 Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It was a cold and frosty
00:04 start for many of us this morning with some wintry showers along some western coasts into
00:08 this afternoon. These brought about by those occlusion features across parts of western
00:12 Scotland, north-west England, into Wales and south-west England too, but low pressure on
00:17 the way out towards the south-west through the rest of the weekend and into the start
00:20 of next week. Back to the here and now though and those showers across western parts bringing
00:25 some quite heavy snowfall to parts of north-west England with some travel disruption through
00:29 this afternoon and into this evening likely. Further showers pushing in from the west turning
00:33 to snow across parts of Wales and north-west England as well with perhaps up to 10cm of
00:38 snow across the Pennines through Sunday morning. Another cold night for most of us turning
00:43 icy across parts of central England and parts of Wales as well but perhaps as low as -8
00:48 to -10 across parts of Scotland. A much milder start across the south-west of England though
00:53 with plenty of cloud and showers around, those showers pushing up from the south-west as
00:57 we go through Sunday morning. These are likely to turn quite heavy at times particularly
01:01 across the south-west parts of Wales as well and will continue to fall as snow across any
01:05 high ground. Scotland definitely seeing the best of the sunshine through Sunday though
01:10 but definitely feeling cold despite that sunshine. Some places definitely staying below zero but
01:15 perhaps around the low single figures for most of us. A much milder day across the south-west
01:20 though 8 to 10 degrees but some strong winds coming up from the south-west just taking
01:24 a notch off those temperatures. As we go through Sunday evening further rain pushes up from
01:29 the south-west turning quite heavy across southern parts of England into south Wales
01:33 as well into the start of Monday morning. Likely to bring some hill snow again to parts
01:38 of Wales and into north-west England as well through Monday morning where there could be
01:41 some travel disruption during the morning rush hour. Another dry and clear night across
01:46 Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland as well so another chilly night here perhaps
01:49 some mist and freezing fog around and temperatures down to minus 5 or minus 6 across parts of
01:54 Scotland. That rain, sleet and hill snow across the southern half of the UK gradually clears
02:00 its way south and eastwards through Monday with the best of the sunshine and the driest
02:03 weather across the north. Despite a milder start to the week across the southern half
02:08 of the UK the cold weather returns on Tuesday and Wednesday but you can find out more about
02:12 that on our social media channels and check out our YouTube channel for the latest weather
02:16 updates. Bye bye.
