00:06 Kristen Doty is opening up about a personal heartache for the first time.

00:11 The Vanderpump Rules alum and her boyfriend, Luke Broderick, are sharing the news of their

00:17 recent pregnancy and a subsequent miscarriage at six weeks after Kristen's pregnancy developed

00:24 into what is called a "blighted ovum," meaning an embryo has not developed or fully developed,

00:30 making the pregnancy unviable.

00:34 During the November 26th episode of her and Luke's podcast, "Sex, Love, and What Else

00:39 Matters," the 40-year-old reality TV alum explains more.

00:44 "I only feel comfortable talking about this because I know so many friends of mine have

00:49 gone through this, like either up until the point of or have been through this. I know

00:54 so many women have been through this and it's really f***ing terrifying because you always

00:58 think like, 'What's wrong? What did I do wrong? Could I have done something different?'

01:03 And my doctor and my friends have told me like inside and out, up and down, that it's

01:10 - there's no reason. You can Google it till the day you die. There is literally no cause.

01:16 They don't know why."

01:18 However, amid the heartbreak, the couple goes on to share how they are looking to the future

01:23 with hope.

01:24 "And the only silver lining, the fact that we've been now digesting this for the last

01:30 four or five days, is that I know that once Luke and I are past this, we can try again

01:37 and that we were very lucky and very fortunate that we got pregnant so quickly. We were so,

01:43 so lucky because it could have gone a very different way for me at my age. I haven't

01:48 gone through IVF. I haven't frozen my eggs. I haven't done anything. So the only thing

01:53 that I can think and whether you believe in God or something above or whatever, I just

01:56 think it's like there's something in God's plan."

01:59 Kristen adds, "It was just a really unfortunate thing that happened to us and I know that

02:05 we can try fairly soon and I think that we're very hopeful to have a very healthy pregnancy

02:12 the next time around."

02:14 During the podcast, the Vanderpump Rules alum also reflects on when the couple initially

02:19 found out they were pregnant.

02:21 "Because it was like the happiest time ever. It was very exciting. And I was so scared.

02:28 I was like, 'Holy s***, Luke, we got pregnant so fast. Are you okay with this?' And he was

02:33 so happy. And our families were so happy and our friends that knew were so happy."

02:38 "It was fantastic to have all the support and everyone being so happy. It sucks to be

02:46 where we are right now, but we've got to try to focus on the positive side of things."

02:50 "I love you. Thank you for that."

02:52 Luke goes on to share that he's ready to be there for Kristen however she needs, saying,

02:57 quote, "I just know that I have to be your rock here, and I want to. I want to be there

03:04 with you, for you, and help get over the sad times and get back to more happy times. Because

03:11 I know it won't be that far off. It's coming. We will accomplish it, and we'll be an awesome,

03:18 happy family someday."
