00:19 Ooh, you know, I actually met the celebrity

00:22 I was dying to meet, which was Guillermo del Toro.

00:25 Freaked out.

00:28 I was like, I think you're my hero.

00:30 I was like, you're my creative muse.

00:33 I was like, everything you touch, I feel so seen.

00:35 And he was like,

00:37 did you know that I live very close to where we are?

00:40 And I was like, no, I didn't.

00:41 And he was like, there's also a McDonald's nearby.

00:45 And he was like, I hope you have a really good night.

00:47 I was like, if that's all I ever get from you,

00:52 What's something people would be surprised to know about me?

00:55 I'm really sensitive.

00:56 I think a lot of people think I'm like really hard intensity,

01:00 but I think like the intensity is met

01:02 with an equal sensitivity that is like nearly debilitating.

01:06 I'm a lover.

01:07 I don't know.

01:09 Someone told me recently

01:11 that I have a really strong resting bitch face,

01:13 but I promise I don't mean it.

01:14 So like, if you ever see me mean mugging in public,

01:16 just know I'm like waiting for a hug.

01:17 I can't do it now.

01:20 I don't know.

01:26 The first job I ever had was making cardboard boxes

01:35 for my parents' jewelry business.

01:38 And I got $2 an hour.

01:40 I would work with a tape gun.

01:42 So it was very intense.

01:45 You guys, it was not the safest job

01:48 for like a seven year old.

01:50 That's really hard because a lot of my tattoos

01:53 I got for people who passed.

01:56 I definitely love the one that I got

01:57 for my best friend, Cameron.

02:00 That one's really meaningful.

02:02 I most recently though, I got one for my dad.

02:05 I found my baby book that like I've avoided like the plague

02:08 for the last decade,

02:09 because I was just like,

02:10 I don't know if I'm ready to see his handwriting

02:12 and hear his like initial thoughts

02:15 about what he wants for my life.

02:16 And there was a line in there where he had quoted me

02:18 when I was like two years old saying to him,

02:21 "We'll be friends forever."

02:23 And I just thought how beautiful would that be

02:25 to have "We'll be friends forever" in his handwriting.

02:29 Forever, like right here.

02:31 'Cause you know, we will.

02:32 We'll be best friends forever.

02:34 Three beauty products I can't live without.

02:37 So I've been completely dependent on

02:40 and obsessed with the Shu Uemura Antioxy Oil Cleanser

02:44 since I was like 19 or something.

02:47 I love that Gucci mascara.

02:50 It's like got a little teeth to it.

02:52 I'm obsessed with that.

02:53 I use the like Benefit blush tint

02:56 that looks like a vial of blood

02:58 for my cheeks, tip of my nose and my lips.

03:02 And like, if you just throw that on a little mascara,

03:04 you're good to go.

03:05 A lot.

03:08 There's this song by "Does it Offend You, Yeah?"

03:12 That goes crazy.

03:15 I have a playlist called "Absolutely Losing My Mind"

03:18 where I like start my morning with it

03:19 and it's like mind numbing.

03:21 Like you're standing next to the speaker

03:23 at the concert kind of bass.

03:26 I'm gonna go deaf one day.

03:27 I'm definitely gonna go deaf.

03:29 My most irrational fear,

03:31 I actually have an answer for this.

03:32 I have a debilitating fear of getting my blood drawn.

03:36 Like I had to go to the ER recently

03:40 for some kind of, you know, I like passed out.

03:43 I mean, everybody was very concerned

03:45 and they had to draw a bunch of my blood to do the tests

03:49 and then they had to give me an IV.

03:50 And I swear you guys, I was like, I'm 11 years old.

03:54 Like I couldn't stop crying.

03:55 I was shaking, shaking.

03:56 And I was shaking and crying so much to the point

03:59 that I also started laughing.

04:01 So there's all these videos of me like this,

04:03 being like, it's not funny.

04:04 The first time I felt like I made it.

04:08 I genuinely feel like I have small versions

04:10 of that all the time.

04:11 But I guess I don't know what even is making it.

04:13 Like, is it?

04:14 I mean, I guess "Boyfriend" was a huge moment for me.

04:17 That was really affirming for me

04:18 because it felt like it was about my relationship

04:21 with the world.

04:23 The most vulnerable track on "Alchemical"

04:25 is definitely "Fragile Things."

04:27 I wrote most of the first half of this album

04:29 about a breakup that was a really pivotal moment

04:33 for me in my life.

04:35 I say moment like it wasn't two years.

04:37 But it was, I spent about two years recovering

04:41 from the loss of this very important relationship.

04:45 But I think sometimes in life,

04:46 we have to acknowledge when something well

04:49 and truly surprises us and breaks our heart

04:52 and reminds us of how fragile we are.

04:54 And that's kind of where "Fragile Things" came from.

04:56 Oh, this really is "Ask Me Anything."

05:00 The plot was, oh, did I sign an NDA?

05:04 I can't tell you.

05:10 Let me just say that what we shot, I loved.

05:14 And that was one of the most fun things.

05:16 And I think whatever you thought it was gonna be,

05:18 it wasn't gonna be that.

05:20 And it was very campy and very sexy and very fun.

05:23 And I loved Diablo Cody.

05:25 Ooh, what Disney Channel star was my favorite?

05:29 I think probably Raven was my favorite.

05:31 I didn't have Disney Channel growing up.

05:33 I didn't have cable,

05:35 but I could sneak away to my friend's houses and watch it.

05:38 So I knew what it was, but just barely, which sounds crazy.

05:41 It sounds like I'm making that up,

05:43 but we had four channels.

05:44 We had the local news, we had PBS,

05:47 UPN 11 before it was the CW.

05:50 Oh, not "Descendants."

05:54 I mean, "Ways to Be Wicked," I think smacks.

05:57 That song sounds so much like

05:58 "Die at Panic at the Disco" or something, right?

06:01 I think that song is kind of up my alley still.

06:04 But also "Space Between," it's so gay.

06:08 That's a love song for Evie and Mel, for sure.

06:12 I'm confirming it.

06:13 I think my regularly scheduled Sherlock,

06:17 like once a year binge was my last thing.

06:19 But I'm obsessed with baking shows.

06:22 Unhealthily, like "Can't Tear My Eyes Away."

06:25 Things with plot, I'm like, mm.

06:27 But baking shows, I'll sit there, I'll stay up all night.

06:30 No, sob, sob, sob, sob, sob.

06:33 "Great British Bake Off," there's like the chocolate one

06:36 with the French chocolatier.

06:38 I love that one.

06:39 They make sculptures out of chocolate

06:41 and then when it breaks, they cry and I cry.

06:43 I love it.

06:44 There's gotta be one.

06:47 Oh, I have one.

06:49 When I was doing "Mamma Mia" at the Hollywood Bowl,

06:52 I don't know if anybody knows this,

06:54 but those ABBA songs, they're repetitive.

06:57 They're repetitive, which means they're easy to memorize

07:01 and easier to [beep] up.

07:03 And everybody knows them, that's the other thing.

07:05 So when I was doing that,

07:12 Which opens the second act.

07:14 Mind you, I just completely went up on the verse

07:17 and I sang the same verse three times in a row.

07:20 And I was like, fingers crossed

07:21 that everybody is so [beep] drunk right now.

07:23 But I was like, I'm gonna be crucified

07:25 'cause ABBA is national treasure level.

07:28 And if you could have been inside my brain in that moment,

07:30 that was, I was gonna [beep] pass out on that band.
