00:00 Well, we're joined by Stuart Rayner, who we're just going to talk about Hull City's current

00:12 form, their 4-1 win over Rotherham, taking up to six in the Championship table. Stuart,

00:17 it's been a good season so far for Hull. What is it about the impact that Liam Rossini has

00:22 had on the team this year and how well placed are they for a serious push at play-off place

00:29 or even more?

00:30 Well, it's basically groundwork paying off, Phil. I mean, earlier in the season, the sort

00:36 of theme of it too often was that Hull were out playing teams at home but not putting

00:41 them to bed. And now, for the first time in Liam Rossini's time, they've won three home

00:46 games on the trot. They've got a fourth home game coming against Watford on Saturday, so

00:52 a chance to really build some momentum. Rossini has been working to quite a clear plan for

01:02 about a year now and it's all been about playing from the back and movement and organisation

01:09 and all this sort of thing. And when you see managers sacked early in the season, chairmen

01:15 seem to forget sometimes that these things do take time to come together and they do

01:19 need a bit of patience. And it just feels as though Hull are getting the reward from

01:24 that. Rossini mentioned himself after the game. There's been many a time where the fans

01:31 have got frustrated about Hull playing out from the back, particularly through the goalkeeper,

01:34 but he was really pleased that the fans actually applauded Ryan Olsup trying to do that in

01:41 the first, well, throughout the game. And he sort of took that as a bit of vindication

01:45 and a bit of a sign that they're understanding what he's trying to do. They've signed some

01:50 very good players, that always helps. Jadon Filler, Jadon looks an outstanding winger

01:56 at this level, scored two goals against Rotherham, would have scored more, I'm sure, if he hadn't

02:02 been substituted with half an hour to go just to keep him fresh for the weekend. He's really

02:08 added to things. Scott Twain got his first goal for the club, but Rossini was at great

02:14 pains to point out that actually he's been playing much better than that would suggest

02:20 up to now and what he brings to the team. Olsup, the goalkeeper I've mentioned, he's

02:24 added a lot. So they've made some really good signings. This summer's signings seem to be

02:31 much better, much more effective anyway than last summer's. They know which way they're

02:37 going and they're working towards the plan and really beating Rotherham United on your

02:44 own ground at the moment is not a difficult task to be quite honest with you. But the

02:50 style with which they did it and the ruthlessness they show, which I say is the most important

02:54 thing when they haven't been killing off teams, was really encouraging, really good to see

02:58 and should only build their confidence for the busiest and one of the most important

03:05 phases of the season.
