UK Snooker Championship gets underway in York

The 2023 UK Snooker Championship in York has started. World number one Ronnie O’Sullivan is looking for his eighth title. Here is all you need to know about the tournament.

00:00 The UK Snooker Championship is one of the three biggest tournaments in World Snooker.

00:06 Alongside the World Championship and the Masters, together the three make up the triple crown of the sport.

00:12 The top 16 players in the world automatically qualify for the Round of 32 stage,

00:17 with the other 16 having made the cut from a qualifying tournament of 128 players.

00:23 All of the games are the best of 11 frames, except for the final, which is the best of 19 frames.
