00:00 - Ray Mesa right there,
00:01 starring in the new freebie holiday movie, "X-mas."
00:03 - She is joining us now, welcome.
00:05 (audience cheering)
00:08 - I was just saying, I love me a dinner scene.
00:10 You were very funny.
00:11 - Very funny.
00:12 - What's going down in this movie?
00:15 - Well, in this scene in particular,
00:18 the cookies might be a little bit laced with THC,
00:21 so that's why everyone's acting.
00:23 - I love that.
00:24 - Wait, now I really wanna watch this movie.
00:26 Wow.
00:28 So what I'm assuming, X-mas,
00:31 do you go to your ex's house?
00:32 He comes to your, what happens here?
00:33 - Yeah, so throughout the years that we were together,
00:35 I'm obviously very close to his family.
00:38 They're wonderful, amazing people.
00:40 I just had to get rid of him
00:41 and then get in with his family.
00:44 So sort of behind his back,
00:46 and then he surprises them and shows up,
00:48 and then the games begin.
00:49 - Ah, that's funny.
00:51 - That's funny.
00:52 Well, how would you feel if you saw your ex
00:54 at your parents' place?
00:55 - I would not like that.
00:56 (audience laughing)
00:58 That would not be good news, no, no.
00:59 - No, I would wanna throw up.
01:01 - Yeah, I don't think that'd work over at Casa Lopez.
01:05 That's so funny.
01:06 So do you sing in this movie, by the way?
01:09 - No, you know what?
01:10 There is probably some sort of real,
01:13 like a blooper real karaoke scene,
01:16 'cause I really love doing karaoke.
01:18 Not, yeah, it's the best,
01:20 but that didn't make it in the movie.
01:23 - Oh, come on.
01:24 - But I do, oh, there it is, yeah.
01:26 But yeah, no, no, I don't sing in it.
01:28 - What's your go-to karaoke jam?
01:30 - Like, "Feel Like Making Love."
01:35 (all laughing)
01:35 - "Feel Like Making Love," okay.
01:38 (audience applauding)
01:39 - Yeah, oh, man.
01:41 - See, I'm more of a Lionel Richie guy myself.
01:43 - Okay, okay.
01:44 - All night long.
01:45 - No, we do a little, yeah.
01:46 All night long, we do a lot of all night long
01:47 in the small little house, yeah.
01:48 - The wife plays Taylor Dayne.
01:50 She'll go.
01:51 - I do like Taylor Dayne.
01:53 - I like her too, she's great.
01:54 - How's the family, by the way,
01:56 since we're talking about the exes and what have you?
01:58 - Yeah, yeah, like, since we're talking about all night long.
02:00 - Oh, yeah, that too.
02:02 - Everyone's good.
02:04 I'm like already kind of in the Christmas spirit.
02:06 I'm so happy the strike is over and I can promote my stuff.
02:10 And like, this movie's coming out.
02:12 I had a movie with my husband come out over the summer
02:14 that we couldn't talk about,
02:15 but yeah, we're doing so good.
02:18 - That's awesome.
02:19 - "Riverwild."
02:20 - "Riverwild," not the same thing as a Christmas movie.
02:22 It's not a warm, cozy film.
02:24 It's about being on the river with a murderous,
02:28 murderous, scary guy who chases us through the woods.
02:31 It was honestly like super fun to film it.
02:33 We were in different countries in Europe together.
02:37 And it was just like, it was fun,
02:39 even though the movie itself is like harrowing and scary.
02:42 - How'd you like the dynamic of working together
02:45 with your husband?
02:46 - I really like it.
02:47 I worked with him the first time on a Christmas movie.
02:51 Actually, it's not very Christmassy, this movie was like,
02:54 I mean, probably now it's like,
02:56 we're looking at 13, 14 years ago,
02:57 we did this movie called "The Oranges."
03:00 It's like a Christmas movie that basically
03:02 I end up dating his dad.
03:03 It's not such a good,
03:05 (laughing)
03:06 it's not like a warm, cozy concept either.
03:08 - Right, right, right.
03:10 - But yeah, I like working with him.
03:12 He's my best friend and he's like really,
03:15 I mean, he's my favorite person in the world.
03:17 - Keepin' the family.
03:17 - So I was like lucky, yes.
03:18 - Yeah, hey, we work together.
03:19 - There you go.
03:20 - I'm gonna go on the radio and she'll say,
03:21 "Hi guys, I'm with you."
03:22 And two little girls?
03:24 - No, two, a boy and a girl.
03:26 - A boy and a girl, one of each, okay.
03:26 - What do you guys have?
03:28 - A girl and two boys.
03:29 - Oh wow, okay.
03:31 There's a different thing going on with a boy,
03:33 I didn't realize.
03:33 - There's a totally different thing, yes.
03:35 - And it's cool.
03:37 - Yeah.
03:37 - And it's nice.
03:39 - Yeah.
03:40 - But whoa, shocking.
03:41 - Then add another boy, have two boys together
03:43 and it's like--
03:43 - And it's UFC all over the place.
03:44 - And then it's, and then it's--
03:45 - It's insane.
03:46 - I'll take that all day when my 13 year old daughter,
03:49 I mean I love her to death,
03:49 but what's going on right there?
03:51 Wait till, how old are your kids?
03:52 - I mean I remember eight and three.
03:54 - Okay, now you got time, but wait.
03:55 - But like an eight year old girl is a 25 year old girl,
03:57 like it is like an adult in the house.
04:00 - Right.
04:00 - But I remember being 13 and I hated it.
04:02 Being a 13 year old girl is so, so hard,
04:05 like nobody understands you and you know everything.
04:08 - Yes.
04:09 - It's so hard.
04:09 - See, yeah, you're basically a daughter right now,
04:12 it's exactly it.
04:13 - That's funny you say that,
04:14 'cause I said to my daughter the other day,
04:15 she said something to me and I said,
04:16 "You don't make the rules."
04:18 Because they think that they just know everything
04:20 and what they say goes, but anyway, that's a whole other story.
04:22 - No, they're way wiser than we are though.
04:24 They are, they're wiser, they know more in a lot of ways.
04:28 They're more like intuitive.
04:28 - That is true.
04:29 - And they know how to like do technology.
04:32 - Right, they do, I go to her to help me.
04:34 - Yeah.
04:34 - With all this stuff.
04:35 (laughing)
04:36 Real quick, going back to your husband,
04:38 you both of course starred in two iconic shows
04:40 with both Gossip Girl and The O.C.
04:43 Do, fans, I gotta imagine for a certain generation
04:45 was really freak out and just kind of love
04:48 seeing you all together when they run into you in public.
04:50 - Yeah, I know, we're in public together all the time.
04:53 (laughing)
04:55 And I know we have a lot of crossover with our fans
04:59 and they're always like really nice people
05:02 who are super supportive.
05:03 - That's cool.
05:04 - And are interested in like what we're doing now
05:06 and love our shows and I don't know, it's very lucky,
05:09 it's a very lucky thing.
05:10 - Yeah.
05:11 - Well, Gossip Girl, the style on there
05:13 is just incredible and iconic.
05:15 Did you save any of those outfits?
05:17 - No, I wasn't allowed.
05:18 I mean, it's not even, I mean, once you like,
05:20 you know, when you're wearing like something on set,
05:23 you wear it like 13, 14, 15 hours in a day
05:26 and then you do that like four more days in a row
05:28 so by the end you're like, I don't need to wear this.
05:31 - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:32 - I don't need to see this again.
05:33 But a lot of it was loaned from like designers and stuff
05:36 so you gotta give it back.
05:37 - Did you have any sort of influence on your style
05:40 or you just kind of surrendered to the wardrobe?
05:42 - No, I mean, I definitely feel like I got to,
05:45 you know, have some say.
05:46 Ultimately, like I did hand it over to Eric Damon
05:49 'cause he was just like a genius who had such a vision
05:51 and brought, like, I don't know, the character to life.
05:55 But yeah, I mean, it was a collaborative thing
05:58 but really I was like, I defer to you.
06:00 - Good to do.
06:01 Right on. - That's awesome.
06:01 - Well, thanks for hanging out
06:02 and congratulations on the new--
06:04 - I can't wait to watch this movie.
06:06 I will be there.
06:07 - She'll be elbowing me the whole thing.
