00:00 What was I even doing in some of these tweets?
00:03 Taylor Swift's fans have been digging up Travis Kelsey's old tweets,
00:08 and the NFL star joked it was torture seeing them resurface.
00:11 The 34-year-old's brother, Jason Kelsey, brought up the now viral tweets on this week's episode
00:17 of their podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelsey. And it looks like the Kansas
00:21 City Chiefs tight end still can't believe those tweets made their rounds again.
00:26 "Maybe the biggest news from this past week besides the Kelsey family reunion game,
00:30 and that's the Travis Kelsey tweets circa 2009 to 2011. Travis,
00:35 everybody's a big fan of college Travis, uh, Twitter."
00:42 Although Travis admits it's funny that they've resurfaced, he's actually been trying to get
00:48 them deleted for years. "Since I've gotten to the league, I'm like, gosh, I just want,
00:52 I want all those things to get deleted. And, um, sure enough, it came to, came surface level,
01:00 and everybody f***ing dove into 2011. What a f***ing year that was."
01:06 The tweets even took on a life of their own, getting a whole bit on The Tonight Show Starring
01:12 Jimmy Fallon. "Travis used to tweet a lot. Nah, he wouldn't quit. I just gave a squirrel a piece
01:19 of bread and a straight smashed all of it. Now this guy's with Taylor Swift and yeah,
01:24 the two are dating. I had no idea they ate bread like that. Hashtag crazy."
01:30 When looking back at that time, Travis explained what was going on in his mind back then.
01:36 "I was just using Twitter as like a diary. Like there's no, I'm just out here just saying
01:43 nonsense." And the NFL star admitted he got roasted online for some of the things he used to tweet.
01:50 "Yeah, everybody just tortured me. If nobody, nobody torched me for the, for the singing.
01:56 I got my, I got my fix for this one. I was getting lit up left and right. This s*** was."
02:02 When the Swifties aren't digging up Travis' old tweets, they're helping him reach the top
02:09 of the charts. Travis' duet with his brother on Fairytale of Philadelphia reached number one on
02:14 iTunes and Travis says it's all because of the Swifties. "So one group in particular,
02:20 besides the 92 percenters, and that's the Swifties, because the Swifties came out.
02:24 I sent out one tweet when I got to eight and I got like 85 tweets from Swifties across the world
02:31 saying, 'Oh, you think eight's good? We're taking this to number one.' And they did.
02:34 It's a powerful group. It's a powerful group of people." "Thanks Taylor. Appreciate you. And
02:40 thank you to the Swifties. Thank you." The song is an updated version of Fairytale in New York by
02:46 the Pogues and was featured on a Philly special, a Christmas album that Jason started in 2022 with
02:52 his Philadelphia Eagles teammates. They donated all the proceeds to charity. And Travis' vocals
02:58 on the album left an impression. Some people commented saying Travis sounded like a Disney
03:02 Prince on the song. "The rasp, grit and growls add such a beautiful texture to Jason's voice.
03:09 Travis is giving Disney Prince vibes." I saw that comment quite a bit. "Somebody's been
03:14 taking singing lessons. You guys both sound great. Multi-talented." "Okay, hashtag multi-talented."
03:21 "Thank you, Goddess Fairies." "Thank you, Goddess. Disney Prince?" "What Disney Prince are you going
03:27 to be?" "I don't know. The only one that I know is Beauty and the Beast." "So you're going to be
03:31 Beast?" "Oh, no. I think they were just going for like a Disney like singer, right? Like that's
03:37 what it really is." Unfortunately, Travis won't be spending the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday with
03:43 his lover. He revealed on the podcast he'll be spending it alone. "I'll be feasting on KFC
03:51 because I won't have anybody here." "You don't have anybody in there? Cooked turkey? What's Kumar
03:58 doing?" "We'll have to, I don't know. He might be going back to hang out with his family. So we'll
04:03 see." "If you want to make a quick trip, you're welcome on the house trip." "Thanks, man."
04:07 "We'll have plenty of food." "Thanks."
04:10 While the Kelsey brothers may not be spending Thanksgiving together this year,
04:14 they did have some fun looking back at how they spent the holiday when they were younger.
04:18 "So I'm talking about when we were young, young. Just pick up." "Yeah, yeah." "Yeah, I'm just
04:21 talking about we would go to like a park. Yeah, we go to Fairfax Elementary." "Fairfax, yeah." "Yeah,
04:26 yeah. And I just remember there was snow on the ground and you could tackle and it felt a lot
04:32 better." "Ah, you would pray for a snow day." "I think one year we went to Canterbury, which was a
04:38 change up. We usually didn't go to Canterbury, but we ended up there." "Oh, I remember that one."
04:42 "I guess that is the one leg up Thanksgiving does have on 4th of July is you get to, not only get to
04:48 eat and drink, but you get to watch football." "Yeah, that is a lot of fun." "It's usually a pretty nice deal."
