Cadillac Pursuit - February 15, 2023

Skip to 04:30 for when Caldwell actually joins the pursuit.

On February 15th, 2023, a Caldwell Parish, Louisiana sheriff's detective was listening to Louisiana State Police's radio channel when he heard a pursuit get started in Monroe and head in the general direction of Caldwell Parish. He advised patrol deputies, and more or less every cop in Caldwell headed north toward the Ouachita Parish line.

Deputies set up on the back side of a railroad overpass with spike strips and successfully spiked the fleeing vehicle's tires. Amazingly the suspect kept going for another 3 miles before finally coming to a stop and surrendering.

We don't know why the pursuit started in the first place, but the car had a temporary tag. Louisiana State Police, Ouachita Parish SO, and Monroe Police are all just as bad about stopping people for bogus reasons (like "no license plate" when the car has a clearly visible temp tag in the back glass) as Caldwell Parish deputies are, so it may or may not have been legitimate.
