The all-new 2023 Volvo EX-90 has been revealed! This is your first hands-on look at a prototype of the all-electric Volvo SUV before it goes on sale in early 2023.

00:00 This is the new Volvo EX90. It looks awesome. So checking out a pre-production version of this

00:05 This car is actually like made out of plastic, but have a look at these headlights

00:08 So it's a digital headlight and it's got these covers that pop up and down and then when the headlight isn't in use

00:14 You can see the LED element just closes over and it runs as a full daytime running light. So it's full electric

00:20 You've got a set of two electric motors one on the front axle one on the rear axle

00:24 So camera down the bottom there and louvers as well

00:28 Now the fascinating thing up the top here. This is actually one of the first cars to have a

00:32 LiDAR integration so beneath that cover there the LiDAR is able to look

00:36 Hundreds of meters up the road ahead to give the driver and and the all the systems within the car an idea of what's going on

00:43 primarily for full self driving in the future

00:46 So in terms of battery capacity over 100 kilowatt hours of battery door handles sit flush there for aero

00:55 And it's probably my favorite part the interior so big 15-inch display in the center there

01:00 Looks really cool. And then you also have a screen here ahead of the driver as well

01:05 So just gives you a bit more clarity of what's going on on the road depending on which spec you go for you can get these

01:10 Wool seats speakers built into the headrest there as well

01:14 Seven seats - with lots of room

01:18 inside for the family driving range of about 600

01:23 Kilometers and in terms of power and torque we're talking almost 400 kilowatts of power and almost a thousand newt meters of torque

01:30 So it is some pretty serious business

01:32 What else can I tell you so air suspension?

01:35 It's made out of partly recycled materials. So 15% recycled steel 25% recycled aluminium

01:42 You see the ex-aunty logo just there

01:45 Volvo along the back and then the nice LED design there for the taillights - so I'm gonna

01:52 Actually, do you want to open it? Because I don't want to break it. I'll show you what it looks like in the boot -

01:56 So in here because it's a seven-seater you've got some space here to store some bits and pieces

02:01 It also has a frunk as well. So you have a little bit of storage space up the front there, too

02:06 So it is a pretty impressive set up. Actually one other thing

02:09 I want to mention as well is inside the cabin

02:11 You actually have a camera that monitors the driver and their condition so we can't see it here in this model

02:17 But the idea is that if the driver is fatigued or under the influence it'll

02:22 Stop you from actually being able to drive the car which is pretty awesome. So this is the new Volvo
