President Biden Says a Deal on Releasing Hostages is 'Very Close'

President Joe Biden said Tuesday a deal on releasing some of the hostages held by Hamas is very close” to being finalized, and that he was hopeful they can get home to their families “very soon.”

00:06 And Hamas has been holding them since October the 7th.

00:10 We've been working on this intensively for weeks,

00:13 as you all know.

00:15 I've spoken recently about it with both Prime Minister Netanyahu

00:19 and the Amir Qatari.

00:20 My team has been in the region shuttling between capital.

00:28 We -- we're now very close, very close.

00:31 We could bring some of these hostages home very soon.

00:35 But I don't want to get into the details of things

00:38 because nothing is done until it's done.

00:44 but things are looking good at the moment.
