NAMM 2023: Donner REVO Smart Guitar Demo

00:06 It's Paul from Guitar World, and I'm here at the NAMM 2023 show.

00:09 I'm here with Ray from Donner.

00:12 And Ray is going to tell me about this really striking guitar called the Revo.

00:17 Yeah, yeah, thank you, Hemi.

00:19 This is our new product.

00:21 We call it Donner Revo Smart Guitar.

00:25 How is smart?

00:27 So it has two special features inside.

00:31 One, you can see, is the RGB light red ball.

00:35 It has more than 100 RGB lights inside, and our customer

00:40 can customize the lights in it.

00:44 And it only shows our customer how to play it.

00:49 But also, we want to learn it by music theory,

00:54 because it has different color.

00:57 You can define the key notes, or third note, or fifth note.

01:01 And the other part is our pickup system.

01:05 We call it DMI double pickup system.

01:09 It has two pickups inside, one piezo and one magnet pickup.

01:14 So it can detect every single note you play.

01:18 And you can record it to share it.

01:21 So we want this guitar to be a teaching, learning, and sharing guitar.

01:27 There's a little touch screen area.

01:29 Yeah.

01:29 Tell me a little bit about that.

01:30 Touch screen is for control the light, put out the scales.

01:35 But the most function we are controlling our application.

01:40 So you have a companion app.

01:42 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

01:44 In the app, we have course.

01:47 We have many resources, like songs, like course, like phrase, video.

01:53 And you can learn from our app and both in the guitar playbook.

02:00 Yeah, it makes sense.

02:01 So you can pick a song, and it'll light up the way

02:04 so you know how to play and learn along with the song through the app.

02:08 Yeah, yeah, yeah.

02:09 And if you are a teacher, you can teach your students with this guitar.

02:14 And it can record what you play.

02:17 And you can share to your students.

02:19 You can connect the guitar each other.

02:23 And when you play, it will show in the other guitar.

02:26 And just when you thought I was going to play it,

02:57 And one thing I should mention that's very cool,

03:04 can you shut off the lights for a second?

03:07 What I found really cool about the guitar is,

03:09 if you looked at the guitar just as is,

03:12 you would never know it has a lighted fretboard.

03:14 And then when he hits it on, they sort of pop out of nowhere.

03:19 It's almost invisible.

03:20 You would never know this is a lighted guitar.

03:23 It's basically rising for make the fretboard.

03:26 So we want the people to not see when the lights turn down.

03:31 Play, it will show the lights.
