Striped Eels Swim To Make New Eels

: "Have you ever seen how these fish reproduce? A couple of males push out a female from the 'house', when an expectant mom is ready to go, she swims to the open sea very fast. She lays eggs into the water column, and then, males spew throughout the water column, fertilizing the eel eggs. A single female can lay between two and ten million eggs! The scientific name of the species is Harlequin Snake Eel - Myrichthys colubrinus. The video was taken during a night dive at a depth of 5m."
