00:26 Well ladies and gentlemen, here we are out at the Elite Deluxe Sports Palace

00:30 about to witness one of the biggest ice hockey games of the season.

00:33 Bringing together two of the top ranking teams in the league.

00:36 In no other game is the feeling of competition so keen, affecting both players and spectators alike.

00:41 Turning casual friends into bitter enemies.

00:44 Tonight's game looks like a sellout.

00:46 A capacity crowd of thousands of rabid, sports-loving hockey fans

00:50 has turned out to cheer for their favorite teams.

00:52 Yes sir, the stands are filling up. They're really packing them in.

00:56 Well it seems there have been a few last minute changes in the starting liners.

01:00 Get your pencils ready. Now, instead of Hannah at left wing, Spellings will start.

01:04 Put DeGradi in place of Williams at center, then Berg over Aliquis.

01:06 And at left defense, McCormick replaces Dunham.

01:08 At goal, the Angham takes the place of Nichols.

01:10 And, oh yes, the teams will be the Looseleafs versus the Anteaters instead of the Moose and Pelicans.

01:16 All right, the teams are skating out onto the ice. Listen to that ovation.

01:21 [crowd cheering]

01:25 And here come the two stars of their teams, Ice Fox Bertino and Fearless Ferguson.

01:30 A heated rivalry has developed between these two boys.

01:33 Both are tied for the top league scoring honors, and tonight's game will be the payoff.

01:37 As these boys go, so go their clubs.

01:41 The referee for tonight will be that popular arbiter, Clean Game Kinney.

01:44 [crowd cheering]

01:47 A favorite of the fans.

01:50 The entire responsibility of the game rests squarely on the shoulders of the referee.

01:54 This keen-eyed individual must follow the course of play so closely

01:58 that sometimes it seems he must have eyes in the back of his head.

02:02 [punches landing]

02:03 [coughing]

02:06 Uh-oh, a penalty. There go the guilty players into the penalty box.

02:10 With these stars out, the complexion of the entire game may be changed.

02:15 A hush of expectancy settles over the crowd as the teams line up for the face-off.

02:19 The referee drops the puck, and the game is on!

02:22 Ferguson's puck over the blue line, passed out to the right wing,

02:24 checked by the opposing left wing, who passes the puck back to the right defense,

02:27 cutting in fast, picking the puck up the board, now back to the left wing,

02:29 and pivots around the center.

02:30 There's a scramble for prevention.

02:32 [crowd cheering]

02:36 Boots has got it. He's down the ice, tries for a shot at the net,

02:39 but the goalie puts up a stout defense, knocking it away for a beautiful save.

02:44 [crowd cheering]

02:46 Here comes Column, the grotty, fighting for the puck. There's the shot, and he scores!

02:50 No, no, no! Look at that stop!

02:52 Nothing ever gets past that goalie.

02:54 [crowd cheering]

03:00 Oh!

03:02 Boots has turned on the rink. It's Hageman, McCormick, McCormick,

03:04 the cap and over the blue line, over to Murray, Murray cutting over the loose,

03:06 loose defense, he tries to draw the goalie out of position.

03:08 There's the shot! And, and, and, and, and!

03:11 [crowd cheering]

03:21 Nice save, fellow!

03:23 [crowd cheering]

03:31 What am I saying?

03:33 [crowd cheering]

03:34 Puck shoots out to center right, and both teams are battling furiously for possession.

03:37 Here come Bertino and Ferguson out of the penalty box.

03:40 [crowd cheering]

03:46 And, there go Bertino and Ferguson back into the penalty box.

03:49 [crowd cheering]

03:50 The loose leaves take the play away.

03:52 Column makes a pass to the right, Murray to center right,

03:54 to O'Reilly, thanks to Puck, and a beautiful puck check at the end.

03:56 [crowd cheering]

03:57 There's a long pass rink wide, and a scramble for the puck,

03:59 a little rough play out there, both sides are trying to score, and...

04:02 [buzzer]

04:03 And there's the buzzer ending the first period.

04:05 [buzzer]

04:09 In order to give the cash customers a chance to sit in their seats,

04:12 there are ten minute rests between periods.

04:15 [music]

04:21 [whistle]

04:25 [buzzer]

04:27 Well, there's the buzzer, starting the second stanza.

04:31 [whistle]

04:33 The team takes to the ice, Puck is faced off, there's a pass out to the side,

04:36 the loose leaves come up with a play, here comes McCormick, cutting down the side,

04:39 that boy's sure burning up the ice.

04:41 Spinning like a toffee, crosses the blue line, the defense closes in,

04:44 wow, they really laid it into him.

04:47 [crowd cheering]

04:52 Hooray for O'Reilly!

04:54 [crowd cheering]

04:57 Here come Bertino and Ferguson out of the penalty box.

05:00 [crowd cheering]

05:05 And there go Bertino and Ferguson back into the penalty box.

05:08 There's a pass out to Bond, and here he comes swinging wide with a blinding burst of speed.

05:12 [crowd cheering]

05:13 The next up is Bond, sliced his way through.

05:15 Puck cuts him fast, picks up the puck, takes a shot at the net,

05:17 and the goalie kicks it away.

05:19 There's another shot, and another, and another.

05:21 The goalie has the situation well in hand.

05:23 No, no! He nuts the O-net for a score, a score, a score, a score, a score.

05:28 [crowd cheering]

05:31 Ha! And he just won, loose leaves nothing.

05:34 Well, ladies and gentlemen, that score might be enough to put the game on ice.

05:37 They line up for the faceoff.

05:39 [crowd cheering]

05:44 There's a scramble, Puck is forced to get to the side.

05:46 [crowd cheering]

05:50 Here come Bertino and Ferguson out of the penalty box.

05:52 [crowd cheering]

05:56 And there go Bertino and Ferguson back into the penalty box.

05:59 Coming up to the blue line is--

06:01 Oh! He's right down the crease, trying to knock the count.

06:04 And the goalie boots it away.

06:06 Ferguson saves, and the crowd loses its minds.

06:10 [crowd cheering]

06:12 Here's the play.

06:13 Mohawk Puck checks it away from Williams, intercepted by Shaw,

06:15 passed behind to Allen, goes to slip to the feed,

06:17 and there goes right, right down the middle.

06:18 He shoots!

06:19 The referee's in the way!

06:21 There's another nice save at the net.

06:22 He clears the puck for the run, but it's too hot to handle.

06:24 Now both teams are fighting it out on the ice.

06:26 This is anybody's game.

06:27 Riley shoots, McCormick shoots, Bird shoots, Pugley shoots,

06:29 Weaver shoots, DeGradi shoots, Sump shoots, Nolley shoots,

06:31 Bushman shoots, Archer shoots, everybody shoots!

06:34 There's a score, and another, and another, and another.

06:36 The goalie's just standing there, but the gun's a handful.

06:39 It's a three-story game.

06:40 Sawyer's shooting, Moore's shooting, Tumbleman shoots,

06:42 Lowry shoots, Clark shoots, Stolley shoots.

06:45 The score is piling up.

06:46 326, 327, 328, 329, 330, 331, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39,

06:52 I've never heard anything quite like this.

06:54 The crowd is going absolutely berserk.

06:56 I've never seen anything quite as spectacle.

06:58 And the crowd loves it.

06:59 And there's a right cross to the chin, and a left over cut,

07:01 and a high wind to the centerfield stand.

07:03 Oh, a foul, a foul!

07:04 It's breathtaking, and they're mixing it up.

07:06 Wow, a basket, a basket, Perry's up, Perry's up, oh, touche!

07:10 And look at that block.

07:11 And look, look down the sideline.

07:13 It's a touchdown.

07:16 He's out, out like a light.

07:17 Here comes the pitch, the long road drive,

07:19 straight down the fairway.
