The Magnetic Induction of Long Straight Wire

A long straight wire is a wire that has infinite length. This model can be approximated by a wire that has a much longer length compared to the point-to-wire distance. When an electric current flows through a conductor in the form of a long straight line, a magnetic field will arise around the wire. Because this magnetic field is generated by the presence of an electric current, this magnetic field is often referred to as an induced magnetic field.
