Emirates Makes $52 Billion Deal with Boeing for 95 New Aircraft
  • 5 months ago
Emirates Airlines announced an order for 95 Boeing aircraft valued at $52 billion, kicking off the first major deal of the 2023 Dubai Airshow. Emirates also confirmed an order for an additional 202 GE9X engines from General Electric to power the new 777X aircraft, bringing its total GE9X engine order to 460. The deal cements Emirates' position as the largest operator of Boeing 777 aircraft in the world. The 777 planes can fly for up to 18 hours. The continued appetite for widebody jets highlights the importance of the Middle East market for Boeing, with the region accounting for 30% of the global widebody passenger backlog.
