Good morning everybody. This is just a quick one as news breaks that Soheila
00:05
Baraveman, the Home Secretary, has been sacked by Rishi Sunak. It comes on the back
00:10
of course of her op-ed for The Times in which she used incendiary inflammatory
00:15
language regarding Israel, Gaza and essentially baited far-right groups into
00:22
the capital city where the Free Palestine Freedom March was taking place.
00:27
Now whatever your thoughts on the the Freedom March and the protest, the right
00:32
to protest in this country is a democratic right. It's a freedom that was
00:36
won through valiant sacrifice, remembered only this weekend of course, over
00:44
remembrance weekend, Remembrance Sunday, and speculation mounted over this
00:49
weekend that the Home Secretary would be relieved of her duties. The interesting
00:54
thing so far today to break isn't necessarily the sacking of Soheila
00:58
Baraveman. That was widely expected and and touted by commentators. The
01:03
interesting thing is just as I speak to you now, David Cameron has entered the
01:07
scene. He has walked through Number 10 Downing Street, presumably for a meeting
01:13
with the Prime Minister. Now wouldn't it be fascinating if David Cameron
01:18
were elevated to Home Secretary, presumably through peerage, but we get to
01:24
sort of see the detail on that. But I just wanted to break that news to
01:30
you. I'm still in my hoodie, hot from the dog walk, so we'll keep an eye on the
01:36
cabinet reshuffle. Nick Gibb I believe has also been sacked. We'll keep an eye on
01:40
the reshuffle for you. It will be live on the Yorkshire Post blog. Commentary will
01:45
come through during the course of the day. Sit tight, it's going to be a
01:49
fascinating day in politics.
