00:00 [MUSIC - "MASKED SINGER"]
00:03 A mask is easily placed on a betrayed and broken face.
00:18 A disguise to hide the past when you mapped out my skin
00:24 and made the memories last.
00:27 Some things are never erased.
00:31 And I have run when I've been chased
00:35 by recollections of you and me falling off our homemade
00:41 castle.
00:41 And even when I'm walking straight,
00:48 I always end up in a perfect circle.
00:52 So I try, but I just can't wait to break out
00:57 of this perfect circle.
01:01 Because giving in to old temptation
01:05 is like that common twitch.
01:08 Oh, this is a stupid realization.
01:12 The more you scratch, the more you itch.
01:15 [MUSIC - "MASKED SINGER"]
01:19 Why am I fighting?
01:25 What's it for?
01:27 Must let my mask drop to the floor.
01:31 My scars I shouldn't have from the people who are on my side.
01:40 Rolling up my sleeves to fight against all the things
01:45 I locked up, all the things I fenced.
01:48 But it's time to let it out so we can
01:52 build a brand new castle.
01:54 And even when I'm walking straight,
02:01 I always end up in a perfect circle.
02:05 Oh, I try, but I just can't wait to break out
02:10 of this perfect circle.
02:13 Because giving in to old temptation
02:18 is like that common twitch.
02:21 Oh, this is a stupid realization.
02:25 The more you scratch, the more you itch.

04:52 [APPLAUSE]
05:10 [CHEERING]
05:14 The next song that we're going to play
05:19 is actually another one of the co-writes
05:22 that I did on this last album.
05:25 And the girl that I wrote it with
05:26 was the girl that was on stage before me, Andrea McKeown.
05:30 Wasn't she amazing?
05:31 [APPLAUSE]
05:34 And we had a--
05:36 it was pretty funny how that first ever writing session
05:39 that we had, because we spent all day writing
05:41 this other song, which was pretty good.
05:44 But I don't know, it kind of--
05:47 I suppose it didn't capture our imaginations.
05:49 And as she was about to leave, she
05:50 handed me this piece of paper where she had these lyrics.
05:53 And the title was "What I Miss About You."
05:56 And I read them, and they were just incredible.
05:59 And I sat down at the piano and, I don't know,
06:02 started coming up with some melodies and some music.
06:06 And this is a song as it's finished.
