01:05 Oh, not an ordinary elephant, a very small elephant.

01:10 His name was Goliath II, and he was hardly any bigger than one of his father's toenails.

01:20 >> But his father, Goliath I, was a mammoth tusker, the biggest elephant in all the jungle.

01:29 And in elephant society, the bigger you are, the better you are.

01:43 Big Goliath had always wished for a son who would grow to be a giant like himself.

01:52 >> Gee whiz, that was great.

01:56 >> Look at Pop. Watch me, Pop.

02:02 >> And to be blessed with such a tiny, insignificant son was, of course, a tremendous disappointment.

02:15 >> A gigantic blow to his enormous pride.

02:35 >> You see, his mother, well, like most mothers, was proud of her little son, no matter what.

02:45 Brute strength isn't everything.

02:54 >> But raising such a tiny son in the savage, unfriendly jungle was a big problem and a constant worry.

03:05 Her number one worry was Rajah, a crafty old tiger who could hardly take his greedy eyes off little Goliath.

03:21 >> All his life, he'd been curious to taste an elephant.

03:26 And now, at last, he'd found one just bite size.

07:51 He was nine years old.

07:53 At least he would be in eight months.

07:56 And he could take care of himself.

07:59 And if he was nothing but a pest, oh, then all right.

08:04 That's what he'd do at the very first chance, too.

10:17 But it wasn't the end of Goliath's troubles.

10:25 You see, according to the elephant law, deserting the herd is a major offense.

10:33 And the deserter is branded a scoundrel, a rogue elephant,

10:39 a traitor to that high and imperial order of pompous pachyderms.

10:45 But worst of all, he had disgraced his great father.

11:00 >> Mouse!

11:02 [ Music ]

11:10 Mouse!

11:12 Mouse!

11:14 [ Music ]

11:16 Mouse!

11:18 [ Music ]

11:36 >> Goliath's mother was so terrified that for the first time in her life,

11:40 she forgot all about her tiny son.

11:43 And little Goliath was left alone to face the terror of all terrors.

11:49 >> [ Laughs ]

11:51 Oh, amazing!

11:53 I can't understand it.

11:55 Those big blimps afraid of -- hey, what's this?

12:00 What's the trouble, buster?

12:03 Scared, stiff?

12:05 >> I'm not scared at all.

12:07 >> You're not?

12:08 >> I'm just as big as you are.

12:10 >> Well, that's not the point, kid.

12:12 I'm a mouse.

12:14 You're an elephant.

12:16 At least you look like one.

12:18 You got a trunk, flappy ears, baggy pants.

12:25 [ Gunshot ]

12:27 Look, kid, I'll give you a break.

12:30 I'm going to count to three.

12:32 And then, if you're not born, I'll tear you to shreds!

12:39 Here goes.

12:43 Better get moving.

12:47 I'm warning you, kid.

14:07 >> As a reward for his extraordinary bravery,

14:32 Goliath was given the very highest position in the elephant herd.

14:37 A place of honor on his father's head.

14:41 And his mother's worries were over.

14:43 For now, the whole herd looks after her precious little Goliath.

14:48 They wouldn't lose him for anything in the world.
