00:19 It's something I've always loved to do.

00:23 this time on the iconic New York City skyscraper.

00:46 and made history as the first person to climb to the top.

00:51 Jared talked all about it on the Today Show.

00:55 - All right, so you made it to the top.

00:57 - Yes, yes, I made it to the top.

00:58 I was just saying I saw my mother

01:00 in the window of the 80th floor,

01:02 and that was a nice surprise.

01:03 - What is it like at the top to look out at New York?

01:05 - It's incredible, it's incredible.

01:07 To watch the sunrise overlooking this city,

01:10 it's meant so much to me.

01:12 Ever since I was a kid, you know,

01:13 New York stood for the place

01:16 that you went to make your dreams come true.

01:18 - But scaling the Empire State Building was no easy task.

01:22 - I have to be honest, it was very, very hard.

01:24 - Yeah, I bet.

01:25 - It was very hard.

01:26 It was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

01:28 - In what way?

01:29 - You know, just the endurance that it took,

01:32 the stamina that it took.

01:35 And it was very sharp, actually.

01:37 Yeah, you can see a clip of me climbing there.

01:40 - What makes for the perfect building to climb?

01:42 - You know, one that you think you might not fall off of

01:46 is a good one.

01:47 - I'd say so.

01:48 - Yeah, Jared's no stranger to daring stunts.

01:51 Back in August, he bungee jumped off the top of the stage

01:54 during his band, 30 Seconds to Mars' set at Lollapalooza.

02:06 It was a good excuse to do something different

02:11 And that was our first show back in a really long time.

02:22 at the band's Austin City Limits Music Festival appearance.

02:36 had a special connection to 30 Seconds to Mars.

02:39 It was to announce their upcoming Seasons World Tour.

02:53 but it's more important to connect with 10 people
