A statue of Hachiko, a loyal dog owned by one Professor Ueno, has become a favorite meeting spot in Tokyo. Hachiko had waited for its master for nearly a decade at the Shibuya Station even after the professor passed away in 1925. Hachiko died in 1935. A statue was built to honor the loyal dog but was destroyed in World War 2. It was rebuilt in 1948.
