यह पहली बार नहीं हो रहा है जब दिल्‍ली की हवा में जहर घुल गया है। पिछले कुछ सालों से दिल्ली और आसपास का इलाको में बसे लोगों को ठंड आने के साथ ही प्रदूषण की मार झेलनी ही पड़ती है।WHO के मुताबिक 0 से 50 के बीच का AQI सुरक्षित माना गया है। इस लिहाज से दिल्ली की हवा WHO की तय सीमा से 20 गुना प्रदूषित है। प्रदूषित हवा में सांस लेने से फेफड़े डैमेज हो सकते हैं। 400 या इससे अधिक की एक्यूआई को गंभीर श्रेणी वाला माना जाता है, जिसके कारण कई प्रकार की क्रोनिक बीमारियों के विकसित होने का खतरा रहता है।

This is not the first time that the air of Delhi has become poisonous. For the last few years, people living in Delhi and surrounding areas have to face the brunt of pollution along with the onset of cold. According to WHO, AQI between 0 to 50 is considered safe. In this sense, Delhi's air is 20 times polluted than the WHO limit. Breathing polluted air can damage the lungs. An AQI of 400 or more is considered severe, which increases the risk of developing many types of chronic diseases.
