00:10 The President also promised that the government will continue to provide housing to Yolanda survivors and beneficiaries.
00:18 Alan Francisco is in the center of the news. Alan?
00:23 Audrey, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is the one who is the first to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Yolanda commemoration here in Tacloban City today.
00:33 The gathering was held in Tacloban Convention Center where President Marcos is the first to distribute the certificate of award for the beneficiaries of Yolanda survivors.
00:45 In her words, Audrey, President Marcos is the first to thank the helpers of Tacloban and other affected by the super typhoon Yolanda that happened 10 years ago.
00:54 It happened by the provincial government and LGU.
00:57 Senator Francis Tolentino, who was the former IMMDA chairman, according to the President, was the first to send equipment to Tacloban.
01:05 Senator Mark Villar, who was the former administration of the DPWH Secretary, also helped Tacloban.
01:12 President Marcos also thanked various embassies around the world that experienced the super typhoon Yolanda since it started until it was able to rise.
01:19 Until now, they have not yet been able to give assistance.
01:23 And for that, they would come and they would bring all that we needed.
01:31 They would bring relief goods, they would bring water, they would bring water purifiers, they would bring fuel, they would bring transportation.
01:40 And we could not have survived without that.
01:44 And so it is impossible to overstate how important it is to us what you did for us after Yolanda and in the years subsequent to Yolanda, where you never left us.
01:58 You stayed with us and stayed with us for years until you could see that we had recovered.
02:06 And for that, we owe you a debt of gratitude that we will never be able to repay.
02:13 President Marcos also acknowledged the presence of DHS-UD Secretary Escusar and the NHA that is in charge of the Yolanda survivors and beneficiaries.
02:24 He also acknowledged the non-government organizations and other volunteers who did not give in to the survivors until they could rise, according to President Marcos.
02:33 Although there are 6,000 people who have been evacuated because of Yolanda, the number of survivors is still not certain.
02:39 Or how long the survivors will be gone.
02:42 That is why they should remain in our hearts.
02:45 For the survivors, President Marcos said, he salutes the strength of these people and calls for the continued prayer of the Yumao.
02:55 I therefore call on our citizens to partner with us in bolstering our country's disaster preparedness, recovery, and resiliency so that we can overcome whatever storms we will face.
03:07 It is an opportunity to become stronger, wiser, and better as we, as a people, and we, as a country.
03:17 So we mark the 10th year of Typhoon Yolanda. Let us also celebrate the unparalleled spirit of the Waray and of the Filipino.
03:27 Audrey, despite the painful events in Tacloban and other parts of the country when Yolanda hit,
03:34 it also showed the situation of the voluntarism and kindness of the Filipinos, especially during the rehabilitation period.
03:41 The correctness of Yolanda was proven that the climate change of the national policy should be part of President Marcos' plan to build a resilient community.
03:51 Audrey, there was a replaying ceremony that President Marcos led. After that, there was a mass.
04:01 I will just mention Audrey, after President Marcos visited Yolanda commemoration, he also attended the DOST event here in Tacloban.
04:11 This is the Handa Filipinas. So Audrey, that is the latest from Tacloban City. Back to you.
04:17 Thank you very much Alan Francisco.
