The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, rejected the declaration of the Organization of American States (OAS) on the Essequibo dispute, a territory claimed by his country from Guyana. Maduro accused the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, of being an "agent of imperialism" and of ignoring international law. Meanwhile, Venezuela's Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, affirmed that Almagro has a "profound ignorance of Latin American history" and that his statement is an "unacceptable interference" in Venezuela's internal affairs. teleSUR
