Royal Navy preperations for Remembrance Service - HMS Excellent
Transcript
00:00 Royal Marines, halt! Royal Marines, in to line, left, turn!
00:07 Are ceremonies like this important to yourself personally?
00:16 Yeah, they are, 100%. They take a lot of work, but they mean a lot to everyone here today.
00:23 Did you manage to get your singing voice on?
00:25 Well, as you heard, it went okay. Not the best, but it was alright.
00:30 Is ceremonial stuff like this, do you think it's still just as important as part of your
00:33 role as any other training?
00:34 100%. Of course it is. I think once you're in the military, you have to accept these
00:39 things and realise that they are important. Because they are, they are important, and
00:43 I think everyone today behind you is realising how important the next few weeks are going to be.
00:47 Royal Marines, shoulder, halt!
00:54 So, I've been sort of shadowing the previous SCTO for circa 12 months now, being involved
01:05 in the events that have happened over the last 12 months, and doing those events absolutely
01:10 set me up for taking over, which I'm really looking forward to.
01:16 How do you think the training sessions have gone on today? Do you think the personnel
01:19 will be all prepped and ready for the ceremony?
01:22 Absolutely, 100%. I mean, this training programme that we have for our sailors is tried and
01:28 tested over circa 20 plus years of doing this. I mean, I did this when I was a young AB 22
01:37 years ago, and very much, very similar, and training to what they go through now. So,
01:44 it's a tried and tested method, and they'll be absolutely 100% ready. There is still a
01:49 bit of polish and panache that needs to be put onto it, but absolutely, they'll represent
01:54 the Navy and be proud to do so.
01:56 Royal Navy, with half arm intervals, right dress!
02:02 Royal Marines, with half arm intervals, right dress!
02:09 Royal Marines, with half arm intervals, right dress!
02:16 Right dress, attention!
02:20 Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
02:29 Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
02:37 trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For
02:44 thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
02:51 Hurray! Hurray! Salute!
03:00 God save our gracious King, Long live our noble King, God save the King!
03:15 Send him victorious, happy and glorious, God save the King!
03:39 Right turn, arms right! Turn, march!
