As Migration Crisis Looms Large, People Of Madhya Pradesh's Jhabua Have No Plans To Return For Vote
  • 6 months ago
Jhabua in Madhya Pradesh is one of the most Adivasi-populated districts of the state. A common saying in Madhya Pradesh polls goes - 'If you lose Jhabua, you lose Madhya Pradesh'. There are 3 constituencies in this district, all of which play a significant role in the election results. However, the district, dominated by the Bhil community, is troubled by a huge migrant crisis. Outlook's Abhik Bhattacharya talks to a few people waiting for the bus with their bags to leave Jhabua and go to Gujarat in search of better jobs. Like them, many have left the state and do not intend to return on November 17 to cast their vote, leaving a huge void in the voter population.
