England 14 Tonga 4: second test review

The YEP's Peter Smith reviews England's win over Tonga in the second rugby league Test at Huddersfield.

00:13 it was a disappointing occasion it has to be said at Huddersfield. Not a

00:17 particularly good crowd just around 12,000 not a great atmosphere and not a

00:24 terrific game on a drab day but that said England got the job done

00:28 scored two tries to one both in the first half and it was a really solid

00:33 performance by England. Tonga created a lot of chances but some solid very

00:40 enthusiastic defence kept them out plus their own errors it has to be said. I

00:45 thought Tonga were a bit indisciplined they need to give away fewer penalties

00:49 when the sides meet at Headingley next Saturday in the third test. England's

00:55 motivation now is obviously to go 3-0 up and to complete a series whitewash

00:59 Tonga will be highly motivated to avoid that so it should be a good occasion. All

01:04 the seating tickets have been sold for that there's going to be a big crowd I

01:07 think it'll be a better atmosphere and it'll probably lift both teams perhaps

01:11 with some of the pressure off. England have come through the series so far in

01:16 good shape there's been some decent individual performances no one's really

01:19 stood out in this game but I thought Mike McMeekin in the two games so far

01:28 Harry Newman of Leeds has looked solid he just needs a little bit more ball I

01:39 pass some good offloads worked hard just needs a little bit more ball in a good

01:45 attacking position it'll be nice to see him have a good game at Headingley next

01:50 Saturday and overall England can be pretty satisfied with the way things are

01:55 going so should be a good game at Headingley next Saturday if he gets a chance to be there
