The Israeli military said it's expanding ground operations in Gaza with infantry, armoured vehicles, backed by 'massive' fire. The Israeli military said "Overnight, IDF fighter jets struck Asem Abu Rakaba, the Head of Hamas' Aerial Array who was responsible for Hamas' UAVs, drones, paragliders, aerial detection and defence. He took part in planning the October 7 massacre and commanded the terrorists who infiltrated Israel on paragliders and was responsible for the drone attacks on IDF posts." Israeli military spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari confirmed that ground forces were "expanding their activity" in Gaza on Friday evening, utilising substantial force to achieve their war objectives. Israel contends that its airstrikes target Hamas fighters and infrastructure, emphasising that militants operate within civilian areas, thereby endangering them.
