Olivia Rodrigo Opens Up About Awkward College Experience

00:11 While appearing on Today Show, Rodrigo shared how she took a college poetry class to improve

00:15 her songwriting skills.

00:16 "I took a college class last year because I was homeschooled my whole life so I really

00:21 wanted to have that kind of experience and yeah it definitely aided my songwriting a

00:24 lot.

00:25 I feel really lucky that I could have done that."

00:26 "You know what I love about you, that you did that after you had an outrageous hit of

00:30 a first album.

00:31 You are still learning, you're always learning about songwriting."

00:34 "Oh thanks, yeah.

00:35 I love learning and I love writing."

00:38 More recently, while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Rodrigo opened up about the experience

00:42 and how it feels a little, well, awkward to her.

00:45 "When I went to college last year, and it was absolutely terrifying and I walked in

00:49 and I had no friends, didn't know where to go, and I actually walked into the wrong class.

00:55 I just walked into a lecture and sat down and I looked at everyone's paperwork and

00:59 I'm like, 'Oh I did all the reading and they didn't talk about this in the syllabus'

01:04 and I was kind of freaking out but I sat there the whole time and I was like, 'I'm in

01:07 the wrong class.'"
