Avon Valley Country Park: A Bristol award winning scream park ‘FEAR’ is back and scarier than ever

One thing that has become iconic to autumn in the city if FEAR scream park at avon valley, an immersive halloween night festival with one aim- to make guests scream.

00:00 I think it's just a lovely place here, you know, it's family based, there's family all

00:05 around, all the staff, you know, we're great friends and it's just one big community.

00:10 One thing that a lot of locals have been talking about is their screen park called Fear, which

00:15 has previously won awards and this year they are back in full force and bigger and better

00:21 than ever. Let's find out more about this Fear park.

00:26 My father's run the farm since '79 and we were a pick your own farm, largest pick your

00:32 own farm in the southwest and then that evolved into a country park which we run as well so

00:38 we have a wildlife park now. We have built and grown a huge pumpkin patch.

00:46 One thing about Avon Valley Country Park is they never do anything half-heartedly. Let's

00:58 So expect a lot of screams, that is a lot of screams. Each different maze is just totally

01:06 different, it hits everyone's different fears. I mean so many people are scared of clowns,

01:09 whack yourself in a house of clowns, it's a nightmare. We've got Lefkoe which is nuns,

01:14 we've got the core which is all in the sewers, I mean it is so cool and it plays with all

01:20 your different senses and there's people that come in that think they are absolutely

01:25 you know fine and they do not get scared and they're the ones that jump out the door.

01:30 This year Avon Valley's Fear Park has been very popular with many of the sessions completely

01:36 selling out and this year there are more actors than ever including local students studying

01:43 theatre and acting at some of Bristol's colleges. They are all dressed up as a myriad of scary

01:51 characters.

01:54 So I'm in the exorcism which is the live experience which is horrendously horrible

01:59 but amazing. I mean I struggle to sit through it, it is so good.

02:04 Halloween is our busiest time of the year, we're going to see about 75,000 people come

02:08 to Avon Valley in the next four weeks which is crazy. 40,000 of them are going to be at

02:14 Pumpkin Patch, another 20,000 are going to be visiting Fear which is our adult Halloween

02:21 attraction.

02:25 So everyone comes in and there's huge fields as you can see just full of pumpkins. We've

02:30 got every different kind of pumpkin you can imagine, munchkins, moonshines, I mean whatever

02:36 you can imagine. And you come on in, choose your pumpkins. People are really surprised

02:42 because you turn up and expect just a pumpkin patch but that's not what we do here. It's

02:46 really important that you have a great day, we've got lovely staff, we've got characters

02:51 roaming and you can actually just have a really good day out.

02:55 It is fair to say that Avon Valley Country Park's line-up of autumn events is already

03:01 a success this year.
