Why Kapil Dev's 175* wasn't recorded #euphoriacricket

As a cricket fan, you must have known about Kapil Dev’s legendary 175* against Zimbabwe in the 1983 WC. But did you know that it wasn’t broadcast on TV and there are no highlights of it? Earlier it was believed that it was due to a nationwide strike by the sole broadcaster BBC. But that’s not true, on 18th June 1983, there were 4 matches that day, WI-AUS, ENG-PAK, NZ-SL, IND-ZIM, and BBC could only record 3 matches in a day. WI vs AUS and ENG vs PAK were broadcast live and NZ vs SL had a single camera for highlights. The IND-ZIM match got ignored, who knows what was the exact reason, but that match produced one of the most iconic WC innings and that team went on to win the tournament.
