00:00 In my opinion, Gwen is the perfect person to receive a star on the Walk of Fame.
00:05 Gwen Stefani gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,
00:08 and her husband Blake Shelton's speech during the ceremony is lovely.
00:12 It all happens on Hollywood Boulevard October 19th,
00:15 and while the singer and voice coach receives the huge honors
00:18 surrounded by her colleagues and loved ones,
00:20 it's her country star husband who does speak
00:22 and nearly steals the spotlight from his beautiful bride.
00:26 The first time that I ever met Gwen was in 2014.
00:30 She wasn't like any other famous person that I had ever met before.
00:35 She drove herself to work in a black minivan with car seats in it.
00:44 She didn't roll in with security.
00:46 She came in with a baby and two little boys,
00:50 which at the time worked like security
00:53 because nobody was going near her.
00:56 It was chaos.
01:01 It was clear to me that she was a mother,
01:04 first and foremost, over anything else in the world.
01:09 That was her number one job.
01:12 And now standing here almost ten years later,
01:15 after I first met her, I can say without question
01:19 that being a mother is still the most important thing in her life.
01:26 And I've got to tell you all, that's rare in this business.
01:32 But today it's nice to see her honored for her side project,
01:39 which is being one of the biggest stars in the world.
01:45 In my opinion, Gwen is the perfect person to receive a star on the Walk of Fame.
01:50 From music, television and movies, to fashion and beauty,
01:55 she has risen to the top over and over again with her unique style
01:59 that has made the world fall in love with her.
02:02 Not as much as me, though.
02:06 And then there's that one thing that no one can ever explain.
02:10 It's that thing that she was just born with
02:13 that will make you stop and go, "Wait, who is that?
02:16 What's her name? What does she do?
02:19 Why do I love her already? What the hell?"
02:24 That's the thing that God gives you,
02:26 and without question, God gave Gwen an extra scoop of it.
02:32 What makes me the happiest for Gwen, though,
02:35 is that this all started with a song that she wrote.
02:39 Songwriting is her favorite thing to do,

02:48 Yes.
02:51 If you take a look at Gwen's discography over the years,
02:55 from the early days of No Doubt to her solo records,
02:58 there's one common denominator on 99% of the songs--
03:02 Gwen Stefani, the songwriter.
03:05 Gwen has blessed a lot of people's lives
03:08 with her songwriting talent in more ways than one.
03:12 [cheers]
03:14 Now, I know firsthand that it takes a lot of people
03:17 to make a hit record, but none of this would have ever happened
03:20 without Gwen Stefani, the songwriter.
03:23 So congratulations to my all-time favorite songwriter,
