Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 96 (Arabic Recitation): “ وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡ أَحۡرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٖ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْۚ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمۡ لَوۡ يُعَمَّرُ أَلۡفَ سَنَةٖ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحۡزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ ”
Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 96 (English Translation): “ And you will surely find them the most greedy of people for life - [even] more than those who associate others with Allāh. One of them wishes that he could be granted life a thousand years, but it would not remove him in the least from the [coming] punishment that he should be granted life. And Allāh is Seeing of what they do. ”
Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat 96 (Urdu Translation): " بلکہ سب سے زیاده دنیا کی زندگی کا حریص اے نبی! آپ انہیں کو پائیں گے۔ یہ حرص زندگی میں مشرکوں سے بھی زیاده ہیں ان میں سے تو ہر شخص ایک ایک ہزار سال کی عمر چاہتا ہے، گویا یہ عمر دیا جانا بھی انہیں عذاب سے نہیں چھڑا سکتا، اللہ تعالیٰ ان کے کاموں کو بخوبی دیکھ رہا ہے "
