00:28 Blake Shelton, the love of Gwen's life.

00:33 - Okay, hello everybody.
00:51 I wrote some stuff down because
00:57 I've done a couple of these before
00:59 where I've spoken about Gwen and I go on and on, so
01:02 I sat down and wrote this down this morning.
01:05 The first time that I ever met Gwen was in 2014.
01:10 She wasn't like any other famous person
01:14 that I had ever met before.
01:17 She drove herself to work in a black minivan
01:20 with car seats in it.
01:22 She didn't roll in with security.
01:27 She came in with a baby and two little boys,
01:31 which at the time worked like security
01:34 because nobody was going near,
01:35 it was chaos.
01:38 It was clear to me that she was a mother
01:45 first and foremost over anything else in the world.
01:49 That was her number one job.
01:51 And now standing here almost 10 years later
01:56 after I first met her, I can say without question
02:00 that being a mother is still the most important thing
02:04 in her life.
02:04 And I gotta tell y'all, that's rare in this business.
02:11 But today it's nice to see her honored
02:17 for her side project,
02:19 which is being one of the biggest stars in the world.
02:26 In my opinion, Gwen is the perfect person
02:28 to receive a star on the Walk of Fame.
02:30 From music, television, and movies,
02:34 to fashion and beauty, she had risen to the top
02:37 over and over again with her unique style
02:40 that has made the world fall in love with her.
02:43 Not as much as me, though.
02:45 And then there's that one thing
02:48 that no one can ever explain.
02:50 It's that thing that she was just born with
02:54 that will make you stop and go, wait, who is that?
02:57 What's her name?
02:59 What does she do?
03:01 Why do I love her already?
03:03 What the hell?
03:04 That's the thing that God gives you,
03:07 and without question, God gave Gwen an extra scoop of it.
03:11 What makes me the happiest for Gwen, though,
03:16 is that this all started with a song that she wrote.
03:20 Songwriting is her favorite thing to do,
03:23 and she happens to be exceptionally talented at it.
03:28 Yes.
03:31 If you take a look at Gwen's discography over the years,
03:36 from the early days of No Doubt to her solo records,
03:39 there's one common denominator on 99% of the songs,
03:43 Gwen Stefani, the songwriter.
03:45 Gwen has blessed a lot of people's lives
03:49 with her songwriting talent in more ways than one.
03:52 Now, I know firsthand that it takes a lot of people
03:57 to make a hit record, but none of this
04:00 would have ever happened without Gwen Stefani,
04:03 the songwriter.
04:05 So congratulations to my all-time favorite songwriter,
04:09 On Your Star, you deserve this, and I love you.
