Joran van der Sloot Confesses to Killing Natalee Holloway
After almost two decades, Joran van der Sloot has finally confessed to killing Natalee Holloway.
In a shocking turn of events, court documents reveal that van der Sloot admitted to the grisly murder in detail.
The confession came shortly after he pleaded guilty to extorting and defrauding Holloway's family.
Beth Holloway, Natalee's mother, expressed her relief, stating, "Joran van der Sloot is no longer the suspect in my daughter's murder.
He is the killer."
According to a transcript of an interview with his attorney, van der Sloot confessed to killing Holloway with a cinder block on an Aruban beach after she rejected his sexual advances.
He then disposed of her body in the ocean.
This isn't the first time van der Sloot has been involved in such heinous acts.
He previously admitted to killing Stephany Flores, a Peruvian woman, in 2010.
These two murders prompted Judge Anna Manasco to sentence van der Sloot to 20 years on federal charges.
However, Holloway's body has never been found, and in 2012, an Alabama judge declared her legally dead.
Despite multiple arrests in connection with Holloway's death, van der Sloot was released due to a lack of direct evidence.
Currently serving a 28-year prison sentence in Peru for Flores' murder, van der Sloot was also convicted of trafficking cocaine into his prison, resulting in an additional 18-year sentence.
Although he was temporarily released to the US to face the extortion and wire fraud charges, it is unlikely that he will return to the US to serve prison time.
His 20-year federal sentence will be served concurrently with his sentence in Peru.
Natalee Holloway disappeared in 2005 while visiting Aruba on a high school graduation trip.
She was last seen leaving a nightclub with van der Sloot and two other men.
The three men were arrested but released due to insufficient evidence.
Van der Sloot was later charged in the US for an alleged plot to sell information about Holloway's remains to her family.
After 18 years of mystery and misery, the confession of Joran van der Sloot brings some closure to the case of Natalee Holloway's disappearance.
However, her body may never be found, leaving unanswered questions and lingering pain for her loved ones.
