Britney Spears: Dad Jamie ‘repeatedly told me I looked fat’ during conservatorship

Britney Spears is calling out her estranged dad for body-shaming her throughout her conservatorship.

“If I thought getting criticized about my body in the press was bad, it hurt even more from my own father,” the “Toxic” singer writes in her forthcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me” (via People).

“He repeatedly told me I looked fat and that I was going to have to do something about it.”

Britney explains that she shaved her head in 2007 to fight against the constant scrutiny of her body and looks, but the dramatic decision cost her autonomy.

“I’d been eyeballed so much growing up, I’d been looked up and down, had people telling me what they thought of my body, since I was a teenager. Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back,” she writes

“But under the conservatorship I was made to understand that those days were now over. I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape. I had to go to bed early and take whatever medication they told me to take.”

A judge ended Britney’s conservatorship on Nov. 12, 2021 — 13 years after it was first put into place following her public meltdowns.

Given all she endured throughout the years of living under her father’s control, the “Crossroads” star writes that she feels like “a shadow” of herself.

“I think back now on my father and his associates having control over my body and my money for that long, and it makes me feel sick,” she shares.

Although Britney has leveled numerous accusations against her father, Jamie, 71, has maintained that he made decisions he felt were best for his daughter.
“I love my daughter with all my heart and soul,” he told the Daily Mail in a 2022 interview.

“They’ve heard the allegations from Britney. I don’t mind taking that beating because I know it’s not true, and because I don’t want to start something else.”

“The Woman in Me,” which Page Six hears has Britney’s ex Justin Timberlake “concerned” about its contents, is out Oct. 24.
