The Best-Selling SUV in North America Gets a New Face and Google Built-in. New Nissan Rogue SUV 2024

The 2024 Nissan Rogue certainly looks familiar; The biggest change is the larger grille with vertical chrome slits, combined with redesigned air intakes in the front bumper. The split headlights remain unchanged, but the taillights benefit from revised LED graphics.

The rest of the bodywork is carried over from the previous model, but Nissan has tweaked the color palette, adding Everest White Pearl, Deep Ocean Blue Pearl and Baja Storm hues to freshen up the look. Additionally, the flagship Platinum grade gets gloss black accents (fenders, side skirts, lower bumper finishers) and a new set of 19-inch wheels.

Looking inside highlights the addition of Google Built-in to the new infotainment system, a first for a Nissan product. This allows apps such as Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play to be integrated into the car's touchscreen, along with all the information from your personal Google Account (addresses, contacts, etc.) without the need to pair your Android device.

Google Built-in comes standard on higher-spec SL and Platinum trims, along with a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. These hardware also benefit from wireless Android Auto / Apple CarPlay connectivity, a wireless charging pad and 4 USB-C ports. Entry-level S and SV grades have a smaller 8-inch screen with wired Android Auto / Apple CarPlay compatibility.

In terms of safety kit, the entry-level Rogue S comes standard with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 ADAS package. The Rogue SV features the more advanced ProPilot Assist, while the higher-spec SL and Platinum grades enhance it with Navi-Link.

Richer technology is combined with new upholstery and trim options, including the darker Chestun brown leather found on the Rogue Platinum.

The 2024 Nissan Rogue is still offered with the same 1.5-liter VC-Turbo gasoline engine that produces 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 225 lb-ft (305 Nm) of torque. The turbocharged 4-cylinder unit is paired exclusively with the Xtronic CVT transmission, sending power to the front or all four wheels, depending on equipment. This means North America won't be able to get the mild-hybrid and full-hybrid powertrains found under the hood of the Nissan X-Trail in other markets such as Europe or Japan.

The first examples of the 2024 Nissan Rogue will arrive in US dealerships in early 2024, with pricing to be announced closer to that date. It remains to be seen whether the Nissan X-Trail will benefit from similar visual improvements in the near future.
