SA overwhelmingly votes against the voice
  • 6 months ago
It was a must-win for the 'Yes' campaign but in the end, SA voted overwhelmingly against change. In South Australia the referendum is on track for a significant defeat 64 per cent to 36 per cent. Only one electorate -- Adelaide -- is a chance to back constitutional recognition. The other nine have voted against the Voice with close contests in the inner-city seats and dominant 'No' results in outer suburban and regional areas. Opponents have now turned their attention to the state-based Voice to Parliament but the government's vowed to press ahead.
