00:00 That's very offensive.
00:01 Yeah, we all thought so.
00:03 Welcome to MsMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the worst things
00:10 members of the Big Bang Gang have done, usually to each other.
00:13 May I say, Penny, not a lot of women could look as hot as you do with such greasy hair.
00:18 Number 10.
00:23 Bye-bye Bitcoin.
00:24 Remember in season 11 when the gang gets rich from selling Bitcoin?
00:28 Oh no, wait, that never happens.
00:30 No, we definitely mined some.
00:32 I remember sitting in your bedroom and writing the program.
00:35 I think we ended up with a bunch of it.
00:37 Wow, and at like $5,000 a piece?
00:40 In the episode "The Bitcoin Entanglement," through a series of flashbacks, we learn that yes,
00:45 they had mined Bitcoin years earlier, and yes, the price of Bitcoin has skyrocketed.
00:51 But also, Sheldon, in an act of selfish jealousy, took the Bitcoin and hid it from the other guys.
00:57 But if I recall from seven years ago, you don't want me to be a part of this.
01:01 Sheldon, you can't still be mad.
01:04 Oh, please.
01:05 I have grudges that go back to preschool.
01:06 An act that Sheldon sees as a teachable moment, as he gleefully tells Leonard that he put all
01:13 the Bitcoin on the latter's Batman flash drive.
01:17 An act that could have probably been forgiven if Leonard still possessed the keychain it was on.
01:23 Sheldon, I lost that keychain years ago.
01:27 [Audience laughter]
01:31 Really?
01:32 [Audience laughter]
01:34 But alas, no.
01:35 From a teachable moment to a worst thing.
01:37 Number 9.
01:39 Howard's demands of Sheldon to meet Stephen Hawking.
01:43 Please let me meet Hawking.
01:45 I told you no.
01:47 I said I'm sorry.
01:48 No, you said would it help if I said I'm sorry.
01:51 [Audience laughter]
01:52 Look, we get it.
01:54 If you have something that someone else really, really wants, then you do have great power to
01:58 make certain demands of said person.
02:01 But as we all know, with great power comes great responsibility.
02:05 And making your friend wear a French maid's uniform to work isn't very responsible.
02:10 What are you all staring at?
02:11 You ever seen a man try to get a meeting with Stephen Hawking before?
02:14 [Audience laughter]
02:16 That's just one of the things Howard makes Sheldon do to get his paper in front of the
02:21 great Stephen Hawking.
02:23 Sheldon's arrogance and history of meanness aimed at Howard make it understandable that
02:27 Howard would want to use this opportunity to get some revenge.
02:31 But when they go low, we should go high.
02:33 And making Sheldon polish Howard's urine-spotted belt buckles is most definitely not going high.
02:40 I tend to stand too close to the urinal, so...
02:42 [Audience laughter]
02:45 What you're seeing there is splashback.
02:47 [Audience laughter]
02:50 You make sissy on your belt buckles?
02:52 [Audience laughter]
02:53 Number 8.
02:54 Howard's background check
02:56 Congratulations, Howard.
02:58 Thanks.
02:58 Listen, I have to get a security clearance so you guys might be hearing from the FBI.
03:03 In the season 4 episode "The Apology Insufficiency", Howard gets a job with the military that requires
03:09 him to get security clearance from the FBI.
03:12 Which leads to a beautiful federal agent speaking with his friends.
03:16 Which leads to Raj getting tipsy on rum cake, Leonard awkwardly hitting on her,
03:21 and Sheldon revealing that Howard crashed the Mars rover.
03:25 Oops.
03:26 Is there anything else?
03:28 Is there anything else? Where would you like to start?
03:30 He refuses to pay fines when he's overdue with books I lend him.
03:34 He crashed the Mars rover while attempting to impress a woman.
03:37 Yes, to be fair, Sheldon blurts that one out without thinking and regrets it right away.
03:42 But his regret and subsequent apology doesn't change the damage he's done to his friend's career.
03:47 I'm here now to say I'm sorry.
03:50 Are you kidding me? You've set my career back at least two years
03:54 and you think you can make it right with "I'm sorry"?
03:56 Yes.
03:57 Number 7. The Rats.
04:00 In the "Expedition Approximation", Sheldon and Raj spend time in the university's steam pipe tunnels
04:07 to see if they'd be able to handle the conditions of doing dark matter research in salt mines.
04:12 The short answer is, they can't.
04:13 I'm just keeping my claustrophobia at bay.
04:16 How's that going?
04:17 You tell me. I feel like I can't breathe and I am tempted to crack you open and suck the air
04:23 right out of your lungs.
04:24 But it isn't the darkness or the heat that gets them.
04:28 It's the rats.
04:29 Well, actually, the rats don't get Sheldon because he rushes out the second he spots one
04:34 behind Raj's head.
04:35 Don't leave! You can do this!
04:37 Sheldon, is everything okay?
04:41 It's too late for Cthulhu Pali! Let's go!
04:45 On the way out, Sheldon makes no effort to save or help his friend,
04:49 even going so far as to close the hatch door behind him.
04:53 Needless to say, Raj later shows up at the apartment pretty ticked off.
04:57 You call yourself a friend? I was trying to help you and in the first sign of trouble,
05:03 you ran away, leaving me to fend off a family of rats!
05:07 Number 6. Making Penny and Leonard Lab Rats.
05:12 She's been conducting an experiment on apes where they're given various puzzles to solve.
05:17 I was surprised at the complexity of the puzzles and thought some humans wouldn't be able to solve
05:21 them. That's when Amy said, "Wanna make this interesting."
05:24 The fact that Amy and Sheldon are giving Penny and Leonard "puzzle tests" to compare their
05:29 results to those of lab monkeys isn't bad on the surface. However, the fact that they're
05:34 doing it without their friend's knowledge or consent, that's what takes it from bad to worse.
05:40 If you fill out some paperwork at the university, I can get you $5.
05:42 I don't want $5! I want my dignity!
05:46 So what are we talking, like 10 bucks?
05:49 Putting scissors together, sorting coins, getting a banana out of a box,
05:55 treating their best friends like lab rats might be good for science, but it certainly isn't good
06:00 for their friendship, as Penny's gift box response makes it quite obvious.
06:04 How can I make this up to you?
06:07 The answer's in this puzzle box. Let's see if you can open it.
06:10 Number 5. The Itchy Sweater
06:15 When Leonard admits to Sheldon that he forgot to return a DVD many years ago,
06:20 he begs Sheldon not to make a big deal about it. And while Sheldon agrees to that,
06:25 he also points out that Leonard doesn't understand how things like that bother him.
06:29 You completely disregard how uncomfortable unresolved issues are for me. It's like an
06:35 itch in my brain I can't scratch. When I broke my arm, I used to stick a coat hanger down there.
06:40 He then asks his best friend to wear a super itchy sweater until the problem is resolved as
06:48 a way of simulating his discomfort. Look, we totally understand that Leonard agrees to the
06:53 terms. However, what he doesn't know is that the video store closed down, and Sheldon paid the late
06:58 fee years ago. But I want you to promise not to flip out.
07:03 To what?
07:03 Seven years ago, I found out the DVD was late and I paid for it.
07:11 Pure evil? Maybe. How about if we throw in the times he secretly put bugs in Leonard's food?
07:20 How about the month Sheldon spent grinding up insects and mixing them into Leonard's food?
07:24 Well, excuse me! That was not a betrayal. That was an experiment to determine at what
07:30 concentration food starts tasting mothy.
07:33 Number four, making fun of Raj.
07:37 Don't worry, you'll thank me.
07:38 Hello, little Raj Kutrapati.
07:41 Yes, it is good to talk to you too.
07:47 Yes, friends rag on each other and make fun of each other. But when it comes to Raj,
07:52 the jokes are too often in regards to his culture, his accent, or how in touch he is with his feminine
07:58 side. While the rest of the gang get in a few good ones every now and then, most of the jabs
08:03 come from his bestie Howard.
08:04 Well, last week was a blast. Plus, I thought you might like having a guy here.
08:08 It was not funny.
08:13 Sometimes, Raj is able to let it roll off his back. But there are multiple occasions when the
08:20 constant barrage of put-downs take their toll, to the point where he even ends his friendship
08:25 with Howard for a while due to how all the mocking has eroded his sense of confidence
08:29 and self-worth.
08:30 Come on, you can't blame that on me.
08:32 Why not? 15 years of constant ridicule. I think our relationship has become toxic.
08:39 Number three, Sheldon works with the military behind his friend's back. When it comes to the
08:44 guidance system, Howard, Leonard, and Sheldon are a team, at least at first.
08:50 Never thought about that.
08:51 And since it's in a quantum state, it would maintain an infinite persistence.
08:55 Groundbreaking revelations, tropical drinks,
08:57 tell me this isn't like the best episode of Sex and the City.
09:00 But after the military uses them and kicks them aside, Sheldon has an idea for a communication
09:08 system using said guidance system. Does he do the right thing and talk to the guys about it?
09:13 Nope. He just goes to the military behind his friend's backs. A move that, when they find out
09:18 about it, well, let's just say they aren't very happy.
09:22 Are we done?
09:22 No, no, I am taking charge right now and telling you that it is not okay with us.
09:28 It's very okay.
09:28 And we're with them. There may not be an I in team, but there is one in Edison.
09:35 You know what? You like to think that you're just like Tesla,
09:38 but the truth is you're exactly like Edison.
09:40 You take that back.
09:42 Number two, falsifying data. It's not hard to imagine that being alone in a research base
09:48 in the Arctic with Sheldon would be a less than enjoyable experience.
09:52 There's no time for a crossbow. Find me an icicle.
09:55 Three months. This is going to be great.
10:02 Especially if the research he was doing was not giving him the results he wanted.
10:08 And that's exactly the situation the other guys found themselves in
10:11 when they made the decision to do something pretty terrible.
10:14 What your equipment detected wasn't so much evidence of paradigm shifting monopoles as it was
10:20 static from the electric can opener we were turning on and off.
10:25 Sheldon's friends, fellow scientists at that, used an electric can opener to fool
10:33 the research equipment and create false positive data results.
10:37 The situation was, as Howard and Raj described it, pretty unbearable.
10:41 But what they did was almost unforgivable.
10:43 All you did was lie to me, destroy my dream, and humiliate me in front of the whole university.
10:48 That, FYI, was sarcasm.
10:53 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:59 Bernadette shames Penny for not wanting kids.
11:02 Even worse because just a few years back, Bernadette was saying how she didn't want kids.
11:08 Hang on, why is it crazy to say I might not want kids?
11:11 Oh, it's not crazy. It's just wrong.
11:13 You only think you don't want kids, but once you have kids, you realize that you did want them.
11:18 Secret cleaning.
11:20 Cleaning Penny's apartment.
11:22 Nice.
11:22 Breaking in and doing it while she sleeps?
11:24 Naughty.
11:25 I'm not leaving until I'm done.
11:27 If you have time to lean, you have time to clean.
11:34 Non-alcoholic beer.
11:39 Howard purposely ruins Raj's chance with Summer Glau.
11:43 Raj?
11:43 Yes?
11:44 Look.
11:45 What am I looking at?
11:46 You tell me.
11:47 Non-alcoholic beer.
11:49 Dumbledore reveal.
11:53 Sheldon forgets to say "spoiler alert."
11:56 It just started number six.
11:58 That's a good one. Dumbledore dies in that one.
12:01 Yeah, I know. I didn't see it coming either.
12:08 Making fun of Zack.
12:09 The guys become the mean kids.
12:12 Oh, I see. You guys are inferring that I'm stupid.
12:14 That's not correct. We were implying it.
12:16 You then inferred it.

12:37 Number 1. Howard's overall treatment of Penny in the early seasons
12:44 We're not faulting Howard for hitting on Penny. She's a beautiful woman,
12:48 and Howard taking a shot is pretty understandable.
12:50 "It's a sentiment I can express in six languages.
12:52 Save it for your blog, Howard.
12:55 No, it isn't hitting on her that's the worst thing. It's hitting on her over and over again,
13:06 after she's made it abundantly clear that she is not interested. As if not hearing no
13:11 isn't bad enough, giving her a teddy bear with a web camera in it? That is next level awful.
13:18 "Would you have opened the door if you knew it was me?
13:20 Not since I found out the teddy bear you gave me had a webcam in it."
13:23 Howard doesn't just focus his creepiness on Penny either. Let's not forget about the time he,
13:31 and Raj, used satellite images to locate the top model house and lie their way into it.
13:37 "Can I help you? Yes, we're here to fix the cable.
13:40 I think we have satellite.
13:46 That's what I meant."
13:48 "Oh!"
13:49 Are there any moments on this list that you would deem unforgivable? Let us know in the comments.
13:53 "What?"
