The Princess Royal invited two trailblazing women to join her at Windsor castle on Tuesday for a special investiture ceremony. The Queen was not too far as she spent the day working from home in the same castle and conducting online video calls with ambassadors from South Korea and Switzerland. Anne had the responsibility of awarding Polly Brooks an MBE and Joan Armatrading a CBE. Ms Brooks is known as the founder of Dan's Fund For Burns charity that she started in 2003, following the loss of her husband Dan in the Bali bombings. She suffered a burn injury herself and decided to create a structure which offers practical, financial and emotional support to burn-injured adults. Ms Armatrading ...
