Israel officially caught using white phosphorus against Palestinians

According to the human rights organization Human Rights Watch (ban in Russia - editor's note), the Israeli army may use white phosphorus during the bombing of Gaza. A message about this appeared in the material of The Washington Post. White phosphorus is a highly controversial and potentially dangerous type of ammunition that, when exploded, automatically ignites in the air, creating characteristic white streaks and thick smoke. It is usually used to create a smoke screen or mark targets on the battlefield. However, the problem is that when white phosphorus is used against or near civilian targets, it can cause severe fires and scalding burns to people who come into contact with the substance. Thus, its use could cause significant harm to civilians, which raises many questions in the context of international humanitarian law.The Israel Defense Forces responded to the information by stating that it is "not currently aware of the use of weapons containing white phosphorus in Gaza." However, according to experts, this issue requires thorough investigation and transparency in light of the potential danger to civilians.
