Previously unseen footage has emerged of Samir Nasri looking visibly shaken in the aftermath of being confronted by an Arsenal fan during Sunday's game against Manchester City.

Nasri, who played for Arsenal and City during his time in England, attended the match at the Emirates Stadium where he was working for French television.

Gabriel Martinelli's late winner handed Arsenal all three points, but one supporter then allegedly squared up to Nasri after the final whistle before throwing punches at several other supporters.

He was ejected from the stadium but did not go quietly, with footage showing him still shouting at Nasri, who looked distressed following the incident.

A video on social media shows Nasri being comforted by security, as multiple members of staff look to put themselves between the former Premier League star and the fan.

This does not deter the supporter, who appears to repeat 'he sold his soul' while looking in Nasri's direction.

Fellow fans are heard shouting 'leave him alone', and after failing to get a response from Nasri, the supporter blows a kiss and finally walks away.

The fan's comments seem to be referencing Nasri's controversial decision to leave Arsenal to join City back in 2011 as the Manchester club began to become a dominant force in English football.

Nasri followed in the footsteps of Emmanuel Adebayor by swapping the Emirates for the Etihad, in a move that left Gunners fans angry at losing one of their best players to a Premier League rival, with some deeming money to be the main motivation behind Nasri leaving.

He went on to win two Premier League titles and a League Cup during his six-year stay at City before moving to Turkish outfit Antalyaspor in 2017.

Nasri returned to England to play for West Ham in 2019 and finished his career at Anderlecht before being released in 2020. He formally announced his retirement from the game at the age of 34 the following year.
