01:20 people being excited about you is really a bit of an illusion.

01:26 >> When the music world came to us, I was like, I'm a youth pastor, and

01:30 I wanna stay a youth pastor.

01:32 How can we do this?

01:33 >> There's no way he can't do both of these.

01:36 He said to me, they say you gotta choose between being a student pastor and

01:40 a musician, it's student pastor.

01:42 >> Leave Saturday night, get the bus back home.

01:47 They said we really believe to continue this ministry to the local church.

01:53 >> Mark has continued to be involved in the church.

01:56 He's still a youth pastor, and I still believe that's why he's able to

02:00 write with the impact on the church that he writes with.

02:04 >> One thing he says is, what I do in the church, that's real life.

02:08 >> As beautiful as art can be, if it's not pointing to the truth,

02:13 we're steering people in the wrong direction.

02:15 That's why music is powerful to me, because it can point us to the Father.
