Shane van GisbergenRichie Stanaway won the 2023 Bathurst 1000 in an extremely tense finish following the heartbreak of their Red Bull Ampol Racing team-mate Broc Feeney. Mechanical problems affected all three cars that competed for victory for most of the day; two full-time Triple Eight Racing Engineering Camaros and the #99 Erebus Motorsport Camaro that Brodie Kostecki put on pole. Feeney was running a reasonably comfortable second with 25 laps to go and was still out of luck with win, his gear lever assembly failing after Triple Eight's #888 Supercheap Auto wildcard entry passed the two early in race.
