Another star of the Morse Universe has died: Richard Kane (Chief Inspector Bottomley: Masonic Mysteries).

Sadly, I have just learned of the death of Richard Kane (1938-2023). He died in February of this year.
Many of you will know of Richard's wonderful performance as Chief Inspector Bottomley in the Morse episode, Masonic Mysteries. Chief Inspector Jack Bottomley was assigned to find the murderer of Beryl Newsome (played by Kevin Whately's real life wife, Madelaine Newton). As the episode progresses Bottomley believes that Morse may be the murderer.
Masonic Mysteries is an episode that appears in most Morse fans top ten and this is in some way thanks to Richard Kane's performance as Bottomley.
