NYFW Spring/Summer 2024: Angela Bassett Sparkles Front Row at Pamella Roland's Moroccan-Inspired Collection
  • 7 months ago
Esteemed eveningwear designer Pamella Roland is often inspired by her exotic travels. And it was no different for her latest collection, which drew influence from a trip to Morocco in January. “I just couldn’t leave there without saying, ‘this is such an inspiration,’” Roland told us backstage. “Every city we went to was different…the colors, the architecture, the different tiles of the different cities. It was absolutely beautiful.”

Actress Angela Bassett, who wore Pamella Roland at this year’s BAFTAs and Golden Globes Awards, was anxious to see the season’s latest offerings from the designer. “I’ve had some very beautiful times with Pamella this previous season,” she told us front row. “I’m looking forward to seeing what has been percolating in that creative space of hers.”

Spring brings more gorgeous gowns from Rolland, from full tulle and feathered. Her favorite look? A dazzling plexiglass gown. “It looks like one of the cities, like Casablanca,” she says.
