The Penang government is targeted to build 220,000 affordable housing units in the state by 2030. How are you going to achieve it?

00:26 Of course on the part of the state government, we will try to play our role as well because

00:37 our role should be providing even low-medium price houses because there is no way we want

00:46 to compete with the private sector so that each will contribute to the attainment of

00:58 this target.

00:59 In fact, we have set up to 220,000 by 2030.

01:08 At the moment, we should be looking at more than 150,000 already after so many years,

01:17 whether it has projects that had been completed, projects that are still being implemented,

01:25 or projects that had already obtained approval but yet to be implemented.

01:31 Putting all these categories together, we should be about 150 or 180, I can't remember

01:44 But on the onset of the second term, I have asked the Exco in charge to do a study on

01:58 the actual housing needs of the state.

02:01 It should be based on the demand, the real figure, and to see whether we need to review

02:12 and revise our target as well to get more realistic graphs of the housing demand and

02:22 supply situation in the state for us to plan even better.
