00:00 Ladies and gentlemen, after that unique introduction,
00:05 it gives me enormous pleasure to welcome you as well
00:08 to Conservative Party Conference 2023 here
00:11 in the dynamic city of Manchester.
00:14 And we will, and I don't think I'm breaking any state secrets
00:16 here, also have a general election.
00:20 Now this is likely to be a general election
00:22 where the Conservatives enter as the underdogs.
00:26 And I know in recent years you will have had difficult
00:29 conversations with voters.
00:30 I certainly have.
00:32 But I would say just three things
00:34 about those conversations.
00:36 First, every single conversation I have had on the doorstep
00:40 has been improved by the mention of Rishi Sunak and the job
00:45 that he does as our prime minister.
00:48 Second, that there is no enthusiasm for Sikir
00:51 Starmer and even less trust in him.
00:54 And third, that wherever Labour runs something in the country,
00:57 they run it badly.
00:59 That there is no liking for Sikir Starmer
01:02 and definitely no trust.
01:05 Who is the real Sikir Starmer?
01:08 The friend and supporter of Jeremy Corbyn?
01:12 The puppet of Tony Blair?
01:14 Or the mouthpiece of Just Stop Oil?
01:18 All we do know is that he has broken every single leadership
01:22 pledge and flip-flopped almost 60 times in just three years.
01:28 This is a man who will literally say anything that
01:31 suits him at that time.
