The Duke of York’s military titles and royal patronages were removed last month following a ruling stating the civil case brought again him by Virginia Giuffre can proceed to trial. Her Majesty, 95, agreed Prince Andrew, 61, will proceed with the case as a “private citizen”. Marlene Koenig, of the Royal Musings blog, said this was the correct approach, noting: “Andrew’s behaviour (referring to the civil case) is of his own making.” The removal of his titles did not, she suggested, come before time.
